The Fynbos trail is a unique nature experience in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom that can be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slackpacking trail or as a self-guided and catered trail.

As we summited Mafadi, South Africa’s highest mountain, the lack of oxygen at our high point made us gasp for air. My group were experienced hikers but exclaimed what rare beauty these mountains have. The views revealed Champagne Castle and Cathedral Peak to the north and Giant’s Castle to the south.

Harkerville Hut
Nice hut before you start the hike.Just make sure they add conservation fee to you invoice prior to payment. They are sneaker with ther admin.During loadshedding the water stops working for hut and showers. There is a JoJo outside.

Best bird viewing ever. Beautiful scenery, quiet surroundings, and one is highly likely to be able to capture what they want

Thabaphaswa Mountain Sanctuary
Wonderful stay on a farm where the Staff start the donkey twice a day to ensure warm water for an interesting outdoor shower. We stayed in the Cot-house and my Staffi enjoyed running around freely.Beautiful mountains and small dams are part of the peaceful stay on the farm where we were welcomed by Deon and his friendly staff. It is definitely a place to relax and I am looking forward to do the hiking trails in the near future.

Klein Paradys Guest Farm
I booked Bush Charlet no 2. The Toilet is so uncomfortable plased one can barely sit on it! No standby generator or even LED lighting for loadshedding. Road is in very bad condition. The charlet was clean and well equipped but only 1 fan inside. No ventilation in the bathroom. The charlet is also in the caravan park. One could bearly speak to each other without disturbing the elderly campers thats barely 20m away and went to bed with loadshedding at 19h00!!!!Not for me, i won't visit again!

Bosman Hermanus | Frame House
The Bosman Winery falls under the Hemel-and-Aarde valley wine route. On the road between Hermanus and Caledon there is a turn-off onto Karwyderskraal Road. Although this road is a gravel road, it is only a short distance (2 minutes drive) till you reach the farm and the road is in a good condition. The tasting room is at the end of a beautiful walkway and resembles a (very luxurious) log cabin with a great view of the valley. The Bosman wines range includes wines from different regions including Wellington, and all these wines are available for purchase at the farm. We did a tasting of a pre-selected set of 5 of their wines and the lady that did the tasting (Lindy) was very friendly and informative. You can also purchase a bottle to enjoy there along with one of their flatbreads while taking in the beautiful view. Their wines and flatbreads are on the pricier side though, for those that are budget conscious. There is also a kids play area close by - within view of the tasting area so parents can also bring their kids along.

Beautiful grounds with antelope and zebra. Lovely walks around the dam and more for the adventurous in the forests. The suites are large and comfortable. Little WiFi but who needs WiFi when you getting away.

Kommetjie Beach Wooden Walkway
Generally quite well kept. Every now and then a board or two missing. Is great to walk dogs although with many off the leash you do have some challening encounters with some inconsiderate owners. Area remains generally very clean and provides incredible sunsets
