Forest meets the sea. Heaven. We were awestruck by the venue and most of all our hosts aka new family. Lydia and Wim you are awesome hosts and have the best facility. Lydia tantalized our tastebuds while Wim's clean energy and braai skills proved that this place was a piece of heaven. The rooms were neat and absolutely tailored with love. Thank you fam for the best time ever...

We stayed 4 nights with Lydia and Wim and it was the best that could have happened to us on our journey around South Africa. We were welcomed so warmly, the accommodation is just beautiful and not far away from the beach. There are surfboards for rent available and Lydia and Wim offer to organise great activities (Like guided hikes, Kayak Tours, a traditional dinner,…) The guests were all very respectful and the atmosphere welcoming and chill. The travel there is definitely a ride (we had no 4x4) but totally worth the ride. What a secret treasure. Thank you!

Amazing people, amazing views of both ocean and village. Lydia and Wim were the best hosts and made us feel right at home. Lydia's cooking is 5 star quality. Walking distance from the beach and views from the place is amazing....love love love

We stayed at the African Pot. Wim and Lydia are amazing hosts. We felt like a part of their family. They have so many cats which love to cuttle and cute dogs. Lydia provided a super delicious dinner for us. The beach is close by and there are amazing waves for surfing. Between June and July you have the opportunity to snorkel with dolphins and whales, maybe sharks and gannets on the sardine run. Mdumbi and the African Pot is a lovely place and we have to come back. Thank you for everything! We had a wonderful time.

Wim and Lydia are phenomenal warm hearted couple who go to all measures to reassure their guests are happy and feel totally at home at their artistic homestead. They live in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa indeed !!.I would highly recommend their place to anyone in this country or coming from abroad

Arrived at the venue on 1st of April. What a great welcome. Thanks Wim and Lydia. It has been great to meet Mama Nomsi. Absolutely great spot. Well organised. It's the place to stay.Well done. Guys on your hospitality.

Lydia and Wim are the warmest, most lovely and helpful of people. The accommodation is clean with a beautiful location, and it is what it claims to be - a backpacker level accommodation. Simple, nice, clean, comfortable, with a shared bath and WC. At the meals you feel you are part of one big family :-) Wim, with a past as a professional rugby player in Italy, has many exciting stories to enlighten the evenings, should you wish to be social. Else the rooms are comfortable, if you would prefer to retreat to your own room - unless you choose the sleeping loft. This is also comfortable, but lacks the privacy.I unfortunately only had one night at the African Pot Accommodation & Backpackers. In the evening I was served one of my best meals - a really yummy chicken curry - of my entire South African road trip.I do hope I get to re-visit Mdumbi Beach. And if I do, I will definitely book with Lydia and Wim at the African Pot Accommodation & Backpackers.

The experience was amazing, the host Wim and Lydia made me feel right at home, the food was amazing, 10 stars in my book. Walking distance from the beach. Definitely would recommend what a VIBE!!!
