Camping cabin

We were the only campers and felt like the world belonged to us. Neat and comprehensive amenities to add some luxury to the outdoors. The freshly baked potbread we received on arrival truly made our day!!!

We ate at the restaurant. The view is amazing. The food is mouth watering. The restaurant has a view of a big dam and forest. In the middle of nature, it is breath taking. Unfortunately there is no baby changing station in the bathroom which made it really difficult for me when i had to change my baby.

Avoca provided the perfect blend of tranquility and modern amenities. The private room we had had everything we needed for the night and the restaurant provided some amazing meals during our stay. Everyone was super friendly and we definitely hope to be back soon!

Simply beautiful! They offer breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was good. You are in the middle of an orange/lemon farm. I would for sure stay here again. This was my favorite place over the last three weeks through South Africa.

The best place for a relaxed family getaway.Staff, Petru, and owners were amazing, warm and helpful. The guest lodge is a beauty and the environment with the waterfall and wide selection of wildlife is beeeeaaaauuuuutiful. We would love to visit again.

Completed the 12.5km De Wildt Wild Dog trail (2 x Garmin devices logged it as 11.9km and 653m elevation gain) with heavy packs as training for a multi-day hike. Enjoyable trail with constant change of terrain and scenery. This is also 1 of the best-marked trails we've come across. Would recommend this trail as training for a multi-day hike or if looking for a good challenge. Minimal shade on the trail so a hat, lots of water and sunblock is a must, as well as snacks. Start the trail as early as possible to avoid climbing most of the ascents in blistering heat. Terrain is rocky as expected on the Magaliesburg escarpment - recommend hiking boots with decent grip. The last 2km of the trail is within the kloof which is shady with lots of tree cover - would be a good place to stop for lunch (if lunch on the trail is preferred). Good food available at the lodge at the end of the trail (and we were informed that vegan options are also available). The De Wildt team are pleasant to communicate with, and very helpful. Extremely responsive via WhatsApp and willing to answer all questions. Would recommend this trail, without a doubt!

Stayed over for business. What a gem. The reception, the staff, the food, the room, the bedding, everything was perfect. I would recommend without a second thought. Absolutely no complaints.

Fantasties!!

We enjoyed our stay in the resort and in the chalet. The property, manager and Alfred are really kind and friendly. The chalet we had was front the lake. Clean, simple and well equipped. Nature is great and the park is very clean. The Resort has also a nice and big swimming pool and a restaurant. Perfect place to find peace and have some rest.

Great getaway of you have kids. Lots to do. Animals, water slide, Roman Bath, Cave and a nice restaurant. You can even go as a day visitor.
