Loved our stay here, very relaxing and peaceful bush surroundings. Accommodation is clean and tidy with comfortable beds, welcoming air conditioning for hot summers. Lots of game around the lodge and on the game farm, we loved walking with our kids to the large watering hole. Stargazing absolutely amazing during clear nights.

Close to God, close to nature. Experience the bush, quietness and lovely and well maintained units. One of my favorite places to go to.

My Son, His Wife and their little son Gabriel of 6 and I, we made actually a stopover at Rietfontein on our way to Addo. We had no idea where we staying and the trip down to the farm was quite an experience for us Curacaolenos, ( we come from the Caribbean) but what a nice surprise once we arrived. Rachel drove out to make sure we were on the right road to their house. Made us once we arrived immediately feel so much at home. The fireplace had a nice warm fire going. The cottage itself is fantastic! spacey and at the same time extremely comfortable and has everything you wish for. What we appreciated most was their attention. The meal Rachel prepared for us. The eggs and milk in the fridge. And the Sunday braai we shared with the family was the best of all! Hendrik tried even to teach my son and my grandson how to handle a rifle! What an experience. I would recommend anybody who is visiting South Africa and would like to know what it is really like to live on a farm and leave a few days the well known tourist attraction: Go and spend at least a few days at Rietfontein!

Very disappointed. Haven't received half my meat back from their butchery, after a month of asking and waiting... Pay top money to go hunt and get meat processed, but not getting any meat back is distasteful.I don't often give anything less than 5 star reviews.

A true jewel in the Karoo, about one hours drive on dirt road north of Richmond. Hosts, Julian and Marisan, their two sons (Isak and Joshua) and daughter went out of their way to accommodate us. Besides wildlife, the railway, the farm is part of South African history (Yeomen of the Karoo).

It was an overall pleasant stay, with great chalets and food. Our hosts, Johannes and Anneke, as well as their staff were very helpful and went out if their way to make us feel welcome and cared for. It is a very neat and well looked after lodge and surrounds and we can recommend it unconditionally as a hunting and/or breakaway destination. Great place for a family breakaway!
