Rietfontein Lodge and Safaris

My Son, His Wife and their little son Gabriel of 6 and I, we made actually a stopover at Rietfontein on our way to Addo. We had no idea where we staying and the trip down to the farm was quite an experience for us Curacaolenos, ( we come from the Caribbean) but what a nice surprise once we arrived. Rachel drove out to make sure we were on the right road to their house. Made us once we arrived immediately feel so much at home. The fireplace had a nice warm fire going. The cottage itself is fantastic! spacey and at the same time extremely comfortable and has everything you wish for. What we appreciated most was their attention. The meal Rachel prepared for us. The eggs and milk in the fridge. And the Sunday braai we shared with the family was the best of all! Hendrik tried even to teach my son and my grandson how to handle a rifle! What an experience. I would recommend anybody who is visiting South Africa and would like to know what it is really like to live on a farm and leave a few days the well known tourist attraction: Go and spend at least a few days at Rietfontein!

An amazing all round experience. Hennie and Rochelle (our hosts) could not have done any more to make out stay and hunt very memorable. A really enjoyable experience with amazing friends.

What a beautiful house in the middle of nowhere. Peace and quiet. Rachelle and Hennie is so accomadating friendly and kindI will recommend Rietfontein anytime to anyone. It was truly a lovely experience Thank you Rachelle for all your help, kindness and thoughtfulness

Fantastic accomodation, great hospitality and an unforgetable hunting destination! I've been hunting there for the past 3 years and will hopefully come back for the next 30!! Hennie and Rachelle has become close friends since my first visit but Ive heard they treat everyone as great as they do me. Please do yourself a favour and book immediately, if there is any space left. Prices are also extremely afordable.

Amazing place to visit for a break away or for hunting. I have been there on 2 occations, one with friends hunting and the second time with my family.Both occations were worth a 10 star rating, Hennie and Rachelle go out of their way to entertain and create amazing experiences. Food, lodging everything up to standard and above. Rietfontein will see me many more times. Looking forward to the next trip.

By far the best hunting experience, Hennie and Rachelle are hosts at a hole other level, the hunt is always a success and Hennie goes out of his way to make sure you get what you came for. Playtime is always a bonus and if you come home without a buck, then.....well, dan skiet jy kak pappie.....lol

What an awesome experience. A successful hunting trip is not just about what you shoot, but how the host and hostess treat their guest to make their stay unforgettable. Going there for my 4th time in 3 years.I will definitely recommend the full board, you never go hungry and the quality is top notched.

2020 was my first year hunting at Rietfontein. We were entertained by the Vermaak’s and had a very memorable hunting experience. Before we left our whole group agreed we are coming back in Aug 2021.
