Army museum

A lot of historical facts for just a few hours of wondering through time into some dark spaces. If you are going to tick the box then leave your self two to three hours but if you going to live out what it was like then give your self a day. It was crazy to walk through and feel what they did back then.

A great display of cultural history of cape town. Many well preserved articals of history and guided tour around the establishment. Loads of renovations and restorations happening so very excited to see some more of what the castle has to offer

This was really cool to see. Very strategic castle to defend the beautiful Cape Town. Lots of displays and a guided tour is not neccesary as they have lots of informative boards near each display. The cool thing was the sun watch located in the quarter. Its almost acurate...off with about an hour but we could call that day light savings time. This was my first time visiting and we definitely enjoyed it. The only reason I am giving the castle 3 stars is because of the homeless people sleeping right there on the lawn of this beautiful international tourist attraction. Covid caused quite a harm to the economy but my opinion is that the homeless people will cause more harm to the tourism of Cape Town. Maybe the castle could speak to the city to remove these people. If we don't allow them to chose the castle as a home they will know to look for another option. These people love with a mentality of nothing to lose so everything is worth a shot. I strongly suggest getting an urgency indealing with this matter. Local friends told us whilst we were visiting in Cape Town that pre Covid the castle used to have a beautiful lawn outside and I am sure we could restore that beauty to this world class city.

Some very interesting displays especially in the old hospital building. What looks like an iron lung is truly terrifying to think of a person confined in such a device for any length of time.Would recommend ignoring the driving instructions given and rather approach on Furstenburg rd, then ask directions from the main gate.

Well worth the visit

Such a great place! We learnt so much about the history of the Dutch East India company. Our tour guide was really really great. We also stopped at the café for coffee & Cape Malay Koesisters which were divine!!if you love history don’t miss this place!

If you love the Military you must most definitely visit the Armour Museum...

A must see attraction in Cape Town. Very cheap for the amount of things to see and do. Guided tours are available, otherwise you have the option to tour the castle yourself with information posted at each attraction. Make sure you have an hour or two to see all of the landmarks.
