Mediclinic Denmar Mental Health Services

Food is inedible and nursing staff are biased and cruel to patients. There are better institutions to go to for real help. The environment is toxic. I've never been so disrespected as a patient at a private hospital. I'm honestly sorry I came here. You basically have more problems and stress from entering here than anything else. Their complaint system is also flawed. The nursing staff don't uphold the rules you're given, yet you're expected to. Worst hospital imaginable. Honestly speaking.

I am done with Denmar. Their beds are old and uncomfortable. Linen is old and faded. Nurses invade your privacy by searching everything and the food are terrible. I used the canteen for food. Everyone is complaining.The showers are broken and the ice machine is not working since May

I have been a patient 3 times in my life time already at Denmar hospital. (My first admission in Denmar was 18 years ago). Great sisters, staff and doctors. For that I can give 110%. All my relatives and friends, if they need a hospital, I recommend Denmar.When I wanted to go and visit my daughters father and also take his daughter to visit him on a Sunday, they say visiting hours are only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 15:00 until 16:30. An hour and a half. And not on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, due to covid? Are you kidding me? We don't even wear masks anymore. So must I put annual leave in to see my daughters father and that she can go and visit him?I am also a renal sister and work in a medical facility and the rules fell away as soon as state of disaster had been declared over. Is this not illegal? I am extremely upset.

I am currently a patient at Mediclinic Denmar, half way through my stay here.. I have visited/researched a couple of rehab/psychiatric centres in and around Pretoria, even as far as Hartebeespoortdam. The facility where one books into helps a lot towards your healing process I think.Mediclinic Denmar is clean, they even an inspector lady coming to check if the rooms have been cleaned properly. The gardens are beautiful - would love to see it in summer.The staff - from reception, to ALL the sisters, the cleaners, chef, kitchen staff, the gardener.. every single one of them are friendly, smile back, ask how you're doing? The sisters listen when I asked them something - the sisters, even with the sometimes rude patients stay calm - my room is right next to the nurse's station - I heard a lot.. Personally, I feel that the sisters play a huge role in making our stay here as comfortable as possible.. They listen, they laugh at our silly jokes, they give hugs when anxiety attacks, when tears flow.. They REALLY do CARE..The only negative for me is the visiting hours from 15.30 - 17.00 weekdays. Some people use public transport, some people travel from Hammanskraal etc.. I'm sure there must be a midway..Thank you to all involved at Denmar in my healing process.Morne

A safe environment for healing. The Dr's and psychologists are excellent. The nursing staff are very patient and friendly. The gardens are beautiful, the food is better than hospital food.

Badest place where in ever was. Rudest sisters. Bloemcare is the most ideal hospitaal. They treat 30 year old with school rules for primary school. I will never refer anyone to came here for healing. Only the Dr was good and my psychiatrist. Food is unbearable.

All staff are AMAZING from cleaners, to security, to receptionist, to sisters, to occupational therapists, to psychologist to psychiatrist, to patients. Very organized. Food is much better then normal hospital food. It's clean. It's honestly like a little getaway from life's stresses.

Complained about the service I received from psychiatrist. They contacted me to sort it out as my meds are not correct and the Helo I received is to wait another month and a week to see the psychiatrist to get the right meds.So therefore no help received and complaint not resolved!

Would NOT recommend, for an institution that is focused around communication. they are horrible at it. The Psychiatrist went on leave without effectively communicating it to her patient.

I was recently a patient there. Enjoyed the food. Nurses were very friendly and my 2 doctors are amazing. The only problems I experienced were the terrible beds and shower facilities. They need a big overhaul
