The Merry Widow Country Retreat Hopefield

We absolutely loved it. So happy we found this absolute jewel in the Weskus. We have told all our friends and will be back soon. Classy, comfortable, warm and when I had breakfast, I felt like I was in a coffee shop in Italy.

Had a most enjoyable overnight stay. Had a lovely chat in the evening around the bar area with Ulrich, the host and some other guests. We were all made to feel at ease in Ulrich's company and conversation flowed. A place worthy to stop by for a relaxing stay.

Quiet and green location, located perfectly if one wants to explore the west coast while staying in Cape Town, extremely friendly host Ulrich, fresh and healthy food. Recommendable for for everybody, be it young couples like Lisa and me, business man as well as families with kids.

Tranquility at its best! A scenic drive from Cape Town takes you to a place where mind, body and soul exhale deeply. The buzz of the morning market on a Saturday is the perfect way to start the weekend with star gazing at night, soul food, excellent coffee and the company of their charming host make for a breakaway to remember!!

We visit the Mill Market here weekly for their wonderful organic fruit, veg and eggs and wonderful breakfast in a beautiful relaxed setting. And the cat Old Grey is just stunning!

This little gem in the heart of Hopefield will at first take you by surprise, then warm your soul and rejuvenate all that is well in the hospitality world.Hearty food and helpful service without being intrusive. Fantastic white linen on the beds. Oh yes, their coffee is outstanding, worth a detour!There is also a bustling market on Saturday mornings at the Mill (from 10am-2pm) that showcases the best produce of the area where you can enjoy meeting a few locals over delicious brunch and (Deluxe) coffee (or not, if you so choose).We keep on going back, and it just keeps getting better with every visit! #VisitSouthAfrica #Hopefield #WesternCape

The owner is an amazing, humble and passive individual. Makes you feel at home instantly. The breakfast is one of a kind. Rooms and facilities are always clean and special needs are catered for. My family are now regulars.
