Dutch restaurant

Hubby reserved a table for our date night. The staff was warm and friendly. Our waitress 'Dely' was on point! Great service even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Thesie ordered the deep fried calamari for starters, which he said was good. For his mains he got their special.. a 1.2Kg Tomahawk Steak comes with a bottle of wine. He enjoyed the steak.. though he didn't finish it lol (doggie bag). I ordered the garlic snails for starter which was absolutely divine and the rack of lamb for mains which was also really good. The only small issue we had was that Dely was so busy that it took us a while to pay. All in all a wonderful evening and will definitely be going there again.

You want a singular, one-of-a-kind restaurant that respects MEAT and gives you the best MEAT experience... The Joop's Place is THE PLACE!You will experience meat cooked unlike anything you've tasted. Our starters was Crumbed Prawns, but it was the PEPPERED BOER BITES with a smoky tomato chilli sause that took us to taste heaven.... Now that how you do a boerwors!The mains was another experience altogether, with the Joop's Special Fillet, the Hollande Biefstuk, but our favourite, the winner that takes it all, THE CHILLI STEAK! Wow... For spice lovers, you will thoroughly love this steak. No.... They don't kill it with chilli sause. But they loving coat it with such beautiful chilli flavour, where every bite is a symphony of awesome taste! TRY IT! I promise you, IT IS AWESOME!!!

I made our reservation the day before. Margriet confirmed my booking via both a phone call and WhatsApp message.My son ordered the Joop's Special Fillet and my wife and I had the date night special which consisted of a 200g Pepper sauce fillet and a slice of cheesecake, each. We were also gifted a bottle of wine which we elected to take away.All 3 of us preferred our steaks to be cooked medium. When our meals arrived, we tucked in quite heartily. To say that the meat was soft, juicy and extremely flavourful would be an understatement. The taste was divine and sublime!The desserts (cheesecake and my son ordered Malva pudding) were excellent beyond measure! My wife commented that this was one of *the* best eating out experiences she's ever had!Needless to say, we will definitely be heading back to Joop's. Thank you to Margriet and Sophie for making us feel so welcome and for attending to us throughout the night.

A must book, must try beef / meat lovers HEAVEN.Thank you for the friendly service and phenomenal cuts of meat.Not to mention the great wine selection. And I couldn't dare dessert, but they looked great...For the really hungry Joop's Legend 2.5KG T-Bone is a worthy challenge.This is going to spoil steaks from other venues, for me, for a while to come....!!

I had an excellent fillet steak done to perfection. A proper pepper cheese sauce which I think was made with the pan fried juices. Mouth watering.The sides are served in a separate plate, which is a bit awkward to eat. It would be great if the whole meal was delivered on one plate. (Preference)Cocktails were freshly mixed and authentic.The waiter kinda messed up the side order. I asked if they could do veg instead of chips. He said yes but also failed to mention the additional charge.Toilets were clean which is always a plus.I will definitely be back.

A very warm, homey atmosphere that's serves absolutely amazing food. The steaks with were ginormous and seasoned and cooked to perfection. All our sides were hearty and delicious and we had the most amazing service by the hostess and our waitress. The best part was that the bill didn't break the bank. Even the craft beers were very reasonably priced. I will most certainly be back.

Iv been on the hunt for the best burgers in Durban and Iv finally found it! Joop’s Definitely does the BEST chicken & beef burger! - Portion size is Very generous, so make sure you go there hungry! 10/10

My Fiance took me to Joop's Place for dinner on my Birthday and it was amazing. The staff was so friendly and the chef came and introduced himself and was so friendly. Every meal we ordered was so flavorful and delicious. What a perfect atmosphere to be in on a Saturday night. Music at the perfect volume where you can have a conversation with your partner and wasn't over powering. Very Comfortable seating. Need to go there again and again. I really loved everything about Joop's place.
