Tumanako Equine Therapy

Tumanako is our favorite day of the week. My daughter has CP and with just 2 months of riding her head control has improved and she is now sitting with a better posture and for longer periods of time.Aside from the physical benefits my daughter has gain confidence around animals she loves to tickle the horses noses and feed them carrots and apples at the end of our session.As a parent its become my space to gather my thoughts. I love to see the smile on my daughter's face when she is riding.Andrew and Jo also work hard to give our kids 'normal' experiences through hosting shows and events and this is so invaluable for our kids to experience this but also for us as parents to have these positive experiences to look forward to.THANK YOU JOLENE AND ANDREW WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH

My sons absolute favourite day of the week as when he gets to go to Tumanako for his horse riding therapy session. He is so happy the entire time we are there and the team at Tumanako always make him feel so comfortable. We are so grateful to have found this place and we know for sure that this is definitely the right fit for our little boy!

Jolene and Andrew are incredibly patient. My son loves them and he loves horse riding. When I asked him now how he would describe going horse riding at Tumanako in one word, he said 'magnificent' :)

Very compassionate team and beautiful grounds. My son is on the spectrum and has been with Jo and Andrew since 2017. The pair of them are very accommodating and do their best to ensure my son is comfortable in all his sessions !

Blessed to have found such wonderful, caring people. My son absolutely loves his therapeutic horse riding, and we love our Saturday outings! Thank you Andrew, Jo, Cadence and of course the horses!

It is a really calm environment ... They are really professional and are great with kids. Equine therapy is excellent for speech therapy, fine and gross motor and the list goes on . My daughter just loves Patat and she is always super excited. I highly recommend the therapists and this form of therapy.

Our favourite day of the week is when we go to Tumanako. My 6 year old loves his sessions with Patat. She is so sweet and patient with him. A big thank you to Andrew and Jolene for making our sessions fun and exciting. Such a beautiful, peaceful yard with the most amazing views as well.

Very sanitary. I love how quiet and peaceful it is. Especially for my autistic daughter who just recently started. I was taken by surprise how she quickly warmed up to the horses. She even started saying Horsey" when she was on Patat - the name of the horse. The 30min session does wonders for her ADHD as well. She seems calmer after every session. To the point that she even passes out on our drive back home. The team is extra careful with her and I love how they are experienced with special needs clients as well. Tumanako are number 1 for me. And I know my daughter loves them as well. And that makes me happy as a father."

Tumanako, may your work reach those that critically need it! What you offer should be made available to all those that require hippotherapy.Having one on one time with a trainer and a well mannered, calm and confident horse/pony is just an amazing confidence booster.You made if fun, doing lots of different exercises, this kept the youngsters attentive and engaged, and asleep in the car on the way home.May your dreams and goals be attained!

I have a 4 year old autistic baby girl. She also has ADHD. She absolutely looooves her hippotherapy sessions at Tumanako, sometimes we struggle when we have to leave. The Tumako team is absolutely amazing and so caring. She interacts so well with them.
