Good day the staff not friendly at all. Take there time to help the public. They make like they are doing you a favour by helping you. Not a pleasant experience when visiting Home Affairs Uitenhage.

What a breath of fresh air compared to the horrible experience myself and my husband experienced at Port Elizabeth Home Affairs branch. The waiting time is long but I'll rather spend half my morning here than at the PE branch. The staff is friendly and you actually feel like you going somewhere as they constantly keep you posted with what's happening inside and not once did we hear the We are offline"

I had to write this review about the ladies that helped my family and I with our passport applications! I have never had such efficient, no nonsense, proficient help in any government / non-government department! These ladies are one in a million! Even though the wait was quite long, as soon as you approach the front counter, you are amazed with the professional and efficient way in which you are dealt with! I hope that they are recognized and remunerated for such excellent service! Buli and Noxi - Well done ladies!!!!

Friendly and helpful staff. Supervisor very much on top of his job. Charming and efficient man. Offices need a lick of paint but the efficiency and helpfulness more than makes up for this. I can highly reccomend and am saddened by all those who have given low ratings

I wish I could give zero stars. I have been at the office 5 times already to collect a simple confirmation of surname letter which gets done in office by the manager only to be sent away every time. She is either not there, on lunch, or in a meeting. Requested documents to be mailed to me which has also not happened. Was sent away today yet again. So frustrating.

About as good as it gets for Home affairs.Well dressed staff, great attitude.In and out in under an hour.

Staff helpful and friendly. Last week my experience was quick and hassle free. I waited 1 week and received a text message to say my new ID CARD is ready to collect.However today all the computers are offline so nothing can be done. I feel sorry for the staff as they are doing what they can, but with all the computers offline it is out of their hands and can't assist anyone. Apparently it's not the first time the computers were offline so who ever is responsible for this should be motivated to sort it out and prevent future issues. I have left the building and returning later hoping it's back online otherwise I will have to pop in another day...Update: I'm back inside. Computers started working. After 10 minutes it failed again.If I could make a suggestion... I'm only here to pick up my new ID Card. But I still have to wait in que with other people who has other queries. Can there not be a quicker way of just collecting my new ID card? Instead of waiting in the que for ALL queries? I know I probably only have to show my old ID book and then they will scan my fingerprinted. It's such a quick task... starting to get a bit frustrating...

I had a positive experience at the department of Home Affairs when I was there on 10th May 2023 because of a wonderful lady who took my problem and dealt with it.For sure, there were a few people waiting in the ques but all counters were open and ready to assist.Most staff were friendly, as I was passed on pretty much from counter to counter and experienced their willingness to assist firsthand. My special thank YOU goes to a lovely Mrs Chaka Thembani. You were a star. Thank you.

My son applied for his ID on 18 September 2020. Was told it would take 14 working days. Visited the offices at Uitenhage on 15 October, was told there is a delay. Still haven't received his ID. When you phone the offices no answer, when you phone national call centre no assistance ( you are placed on hold by system). Very disappointed by this level of service delivery.
