Reptile store

Beautiful store with such a wide variety. Staff are helpful and know how to help. Prices are good and overall good experience. One of my favorite pet shops, worth it to drive a little further for great service.

I had an amazing experience at Spitskop Reptiles. The customer service was great and the staff is very friendly. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who likes exotic animals.

The service from this company was outstanding. I was in desperate need of live mealworms to feed a wild baby bird and there was no stock available in Cape Town, but Kevin from the Silkworm shop in Jo'berg was amazing. He organised overnight delivery for me of 1000 worms, and even kindly donated a few batches of extra small worms to help the baby bird learn to feed. The website was easy to use for my online purchase and the prices are very reasonable. The mealworms all arrived safely via the courier very speedily and were all still alive in good condition.I highly recommend this company for their friendly, helpful and efficient service. The place was OK but definitely not worth the 50+$ for 2 adults and 1 child. Felt a bit ripped off. Was there for all of 30 minutes, if that. It would be worth the $ if you had a hands on experience with at least 1 animal.The lady at the desk seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. A smile doesn't hurt anyone.There's a 'med-large' shed mostly with snakes and a few lizards and a couple of turtles, and an overcrowded fish tank. A few animals outside and some birds. It's alot smaller than I thought it would be for the price they're charging people.I truly respect the fact it would cost alot to maintain and upkeep, however it seems a little deceptive charging people a comparable rate to other places, where you can spend alot more time, have more of a hands on or upclose experience and they have alot more to offer.There's no way of understanding how small it is without paying and by then it's too late. We drove a considerable amount of time with high hopes, looked at the reviews beforehand. I suggest you find somewhere else to go for the price range, however it's worth a look if you don't mind the price.

A lot more animals than when I was last here. Always in my happy place when I'm around animals. Recommend for adults and children.

I never had the opportunity to meet Nadine or Guy but their managers Michael and Cassandra and staff are just wonderfull. This is definitely the place to go for live aquatic plants a tremendous range of fish and even a few Bear Hamsters and rats that were in Quarantine" and of course the bunnies which are just the cutest. To me a measure of the salt of the business is the cleanliness of cages and in this store they are SUPER CLEAN you alway see someone cleaning surfaces and class tanks and parakeet covers. Well done on such an amazing range of food
