Customs office

One government department that i can fully say everything was efficient. Social distancing is practiced and the service was quick. Was really impressed with everything.

Today I actually made it inside the building. And to the counter!! Too bad as I'm not a home owner, there seems to be no valid proof of address in existence. Given up on registering until I buy a house - probably in 2075 when I can afford it

Told us we were deactivated but didn't wanted t tell us who and when as monies were deducted off our salaries paye, the staff that helped us were rude, mom chalant, blase as if we disturbed them not even looked up and in our eyes but we Wil b bck and report the two staff members

Relatively quick considering how busy they were - place could do with a coat of paint, but overall nothing to complain about

2nd visit to this office which tirned out to be very frustrating. The 1 gentleman (term used ery loosely) on duty was curt, unhelpful & unpleasant with each of the 6 patrons in attendance. I have to return tomorrow & will happily deal with anyone else in this office. Most certainly not living up to the vision & mission boldly displayed on the notice boards.

Good systems in place and fast service. I had a great experience asking about a tax query in February and was told to come back in July to sort it out - my advisor was competent and clear. Today my advisor became easily flustered with my situation, changed her story and my tax amounts several times, and didn't explain what she was doing and asked me to make decisions about my situation without explaining when I said I didn't know about what she was asking. I think I'll be in a worse tax situation because of that from now on, but I should have asked her supervisor to assist. Two stars because her incompetence will have a lasting negative impact.

I went twice to apply for an import license. Both times I waited less than 5 minutes for assistance. The staff told me exactly what to do.The staff did seem a little frazzled. I saw people come in and express their frustration to the staff. I’m the first person to accept SARS process is antiquated but it’s not the staffs fault. It must be a really tough job and after jumping through hoops with their guidance I got it done surprisingly quickly.

I applied for a import/export permit a few days ago. Firstly, the person helping you at the counter (Lukas) is the rudest and most impatient person I have ever met.Secondly, they only accept 8 applications per day! How can a huge city with millions of citizens only accept 8 applications per day? I hope that I never have to deal with them again.
