This place is an absolute gem. I had a wonderful weekend retreat there. I stayed in the lodge with my husband and we attended a retreat which was wonderful. The food is absolutely amazing and really some of the best food I've ever eaten. It is a pristine wilderness with trees and birds and animals. The staff are helpful and kind and I felt welcome and included. I can't recommend it enough.

It's been six weeks since I spent five days at the BRC. Upon reflection, it was simply brilliant. Beautiful people, glorious food, great location. The best edge" that I have jumped over in a long time."

We attended Heike Sym's retreat last weekend and it was fantastic. The staff are friendly, the accommodation is comfortable and clean, and the food was fabulous with gluten free options.

An excellent Modern Buddhism centre, for anyone interested in learning more about the religion. Plenty of free meditation sessions for casual attendance as well.

There's a lovely road that runs from Ixopo into the hills - the opening line of Alan Paton's critically acclaimed novel Cry the Beloved Country. These words encapsulate a promise of a place that's beyond imagining. In anticipation, highly charged, I arrived for a novel weekend retreat to a place where the union between the spiritual and physical dimensions was facilitated in a natural environment, bountiful, serene spaces inviting one to meditate, hike, or just BE. Upholding their world-class reputation, BRC staff and invited teachers delivered with unsurpassed love, kindness and hospitality.

Peaceful retreat with great vegan and vegetarian food. Lovely people run this place. Easy walks, lots of birds for three keen twitchers. Check out their retreat schedule and choose three one that suits you: yoga, meditation, birding, photography...

Had the most amazing weekend here. It was a silent retreat filled with meditation, lessons of the birth, life and death of the Buddha and amazing vegetarian food! The staff is so friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and well kept. We even did a 2hour walking meditation through the reserve, amazing value for money!!

The location is undoubtedly one of the best in the world and after visiting I completely understand why it’s consistently been ranked so by travel blogs. Accommodation is simple, food is great, and the staff are welcoming. Worth visiting at least once in your life.
