South Hill Guest House, Elgin

We just recently stayed in the new boathouse down on the lake, it was GREAT!The water was so warm! The sunset is the most amazing thing ever, especially up top on the roof of the boathouse! The water is super deep so you can jump from the roof into the water! There are 3 canoes to paddle around in too! There are lily pads, they just make the view even more perfect! We went for breakfast at the restaurant in the morning, the food was delicious! Next to the restaurant is the first vine maze in the South Africa Near the restaurant is also the beautiful guest house with a big long pool! The guest house is just astonishing! Inside the restaurant is an art gallery too! South Hill is also an amazing wedding venue! The wine is great, made by winemaker Sean. You can have a delicious wine tasting or just have some lunch. Personally I just loved it!

The estate is not only a fully working vineyard but also a beautiful wedding venue, restaurant and art gallery.Today while we sampled the latest vintages we enjoy a tapas style lunch on the beautiful lawns overlooking a maze which is made of rows of vines with a picnic area in the centre!South Hill makes lovely wines. A must visit if in the area - sample great wines, food, beautiful views and a very warm welcome from everyone on the farm.

Stayed at the Pumphouse last week. An amazing stay, with every you need for a relaxing time away.The staff were great, and the location idyllic.

South Hill is owned by an absolutely amazing couple Kevin and Sandy King.We had an excellent wine tasting and lunch for 40 people at the estate. Nothing was too much trouble.Both Shaun the wine maker and Kevin were present at the tasting and they discussed each wine in a lot of detail making it an extremely interesting event.Sandy and her team provided us with an amazing variety of dips and spreads on the shared bread platters, followed by a choice of delicious deconstructed pies.She really went out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and ensure it was a successful lunch.Thank you all at South Hill for a really special lunch.This is well worth a visit when in the Elgin area.

We visited south hill for the weekend and stayed in the pump house cottage. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile. All the staff were extremely professional and friendly and even accommodated our golden retriever joining us. We had a great time, and will definitely be back again. Peaceful accommodation. Great food. Highly recommend

This is a beautifully located wedding and function venue. They have a beautiful restaurant and a well set-up conference venue. They also offer accommodation which is lovely. The owner Sandra and her husband run and they are both very helpful and gracious hosts. They are also very willing to offer suggestions and accept both input and suggestions from clients. Sandra has arranged two functions for me and I was very happy with both.

This spacious, tastefully decorated, well equipped comfortable guest house is an ideal weekend breakaway. It supplies everything needed for self catering, and the bonus of an excellent restaurant next door. Surrounded by beautiful

What a place! For hospitality that goes beyond 5*. I have hosted 2 artists retreats at South Hill. We booked the guest house as well as the pumphouse and boat house. What sets this venue apart from many is the incredibly generous, kind and friendly staff and owners. They go the extra mile to make every visitors stay an absolute treat. They don't just hand over a key. With award winning wines, views, fabulous food and people.... one can't help but feel a special connection to this beautiful place.
