26th April 2017I believe in giving kudu's where kudu's are due. Theo the Technician came out to our home to install sensors so that the gate will close automatically. He was efficient He worked neatly and answered all my questions But best of all something you do not often experience in KZN He Cleaned up after he had done an excellent job! II would recommend the Gate doctor to anyone at the drop of a hat ! Well done

After having difficulties with another gate repair business, I contacted Gate Doctor to repair my automated gate motor. They came to my home and I was informed that they needed to take the motor and that it would be ready and installed several days later on the Thursday morning at a cost of R1270. I arranged to be at home on Thursday morning but by 10h30 the technicians did not arrive. I then called Gate Doctor's offices and was told by the secretary that I should call the technicians to find out why they had not arrived. The technicians told me that they had not mentioned coming on Thursday but they would be there the following morning to install the motor. The following day Gate Doctor called to inform me that they would not be able to make it and would be coming on Monday morning. Monday morning came and once again there was no sign of Gate Doctor. Again I called their offices and once again I was told that I should chase the technicians up. I did but could not get through after which I insisted that Gate Doctor follow up with their own employees rather than getting the customer to do it. The technician then contacted me and arrangements were made for the gate to be installed at 14h30. At 15h15 I had still heard nothing. I contacted the technician and was then told that they wouldn't be coming that day. Obviously annoyed, I once again called the office to express my dissatisfaction. An hour later the technicians showed up at my home and installed the motor. However, there was a problem with the timing screws and they said they would return first thing in the morning to fit them. So, once again, I arranged to be at home for the repairs. At 09h00 I called Gate Doctor and was told that they would be at my home by 09h30-09h45. At 10h30 noone had arrived. I called Gate Doctor and was told to call the technicians but refused. I was then told by the secretary that she was busy manning the switchboard and that she'd get back to me and then she put the phone down on me. 30 minutes later I had heard nothing so called Gate Doctor again. This time a gentleman that I had not yet spoken to answered. I was told that he would see when they could come. I explained that I had organised for my girlfriend to be at the house and that she had already been waiting there for over an hour (as I had already waited 3 mornings waiting) and they needed to get there asap. 25 minutes later they arrived. The technicians then became annoyed with my girlfriend as there was electrical interruptions due to electrical work being done at my home. This after they had wasted hours and hours of my time. When it came time to pay they said the fee would be R1270 plus an additional call out fee of R350. I called Gate Doctor's offices once again and was told by the secretary that this was the way it was and she didn't even have the papers. So not only were three mornings of my life wasted and my patience tested, but I then had to pay more than I was quoted on. AVOID GATE DOCTOR AT ALL COST.

Professionalism overload,I had a problematic gate and had “the specialists” out who quoted me practically new everything,got a second opinion from “The gate Doctor” and when was told was fixed and cost almost nothing I was shocked,I’ve used them twice on two different gates and the service is out of this world,very reliable and honest company.

Disgusted with the quote that was given to us to install a gate. Just because you couldn't make money off of us to supply all the part required, a quote of 15000rand to just install what's there. Unbelievable and proves that it's all about the money and not about the quality of business. Thank you for wasting our time. There was no mistake made. As the quote was not in my name. So you wont have record of me.

In July of 2020 The Gate Doctor installed a new gate at my house in Hillcrest, Durban, South Africa. They gave a reasonable price and did professional work. I had an issue that needed sorted and they sorted it out quickly with no extra charge. I highy recommend The Gate Doctor!

Good service rendered

I had a failure with my gate motor and rang a few places see if I could get a technician out that day but several of the companies that I spoke to couldn't help for days. The Gate Doctor staff were very friendly and efficient and got technician out to me within hours. He diagnosed and repaired the fault on site and sent me a fair bill later. Couldn't ask for better service.

After reading other posts, i was a bit reluctant on using gate dr's services. I researched them throughly and found that they're been around for year's and year's, so i said...why not give them a try. The experience was fantastic - its how customer service should be. Every follow up and email sent was met by their word, and i hope these guys keep up the good work! They even installed the gate a whole week earlier. Workmanship is amazing too - no defects and welding is immaculate. Experience - something that cannot be bought. Thank you gate dr!

The Gate Doctor installed automated gates in my property early in 2022 at a reasonable price. Their job was excellent and they were very professional. I had a problem with the gate which was caused by my daughter when trying to programme a spare gate remote. The Gate Doctor responded quickly to my call and rectified the situation without any charge. The gate is still working very well.
