The Alberton Department of Labour is a nightmare. Went to submit my UIF claim on the 18 August 2022 and have not been paid yet (it's now 04/03/2023). Nosipho was the first person who assisted me and she was unpleasant from the word go, her attitude was lousy and she seemed very uninterested to be working there because she does not bother to answer your questions, to add to her stinky attitude... She did not submit my UI19 Form which was filled out by my employer and I handed over to her on that day. Terrible encounter number 2 was with a man called Kielan (not sure of the spelling), he is a bald white guy who is just utterly horrible to deal with, they send you to him (apparently he is the manager) but completely dissmisses your complaints or doesn't even bother to hear what you have to say. The 3rd encounter was with the guy who manages the queue outside with the thick glasses, he is plain rude. I have been to that office over 10 time to try process my UIF claim and have received no assistance.My last visit was on Wednesday (01/03/2023) and I was assisted by Muriel who assured me that my claim is now being processed and should receive the funds shortly. I am hoping she is right because I never want to step into that place ever again.

Poor service. If you are looking for proof that we have an uncaring government go to DoL Alberton. They make us wait in a long queue outside while there are plenty of chairs in the waiting area only to tell you that their system is not working after many hours. It is sad.

Apparently I needed another 2nd U19 form of referral from one of the employers, everything else there even banking form stamped!I’m given a date to bring this simple document on 12 January 2022 when I can easily bring it the following day!

I went to the there on Mon the 5th to have them upload my sons birth certificate, this was the second time I was doing this. This time around they did not follow the same procedure and when I tried to enquir I was told to wait 24 hours...it's been 24 hours as I predicted nothing was uploaded...7th of June I will be going back to get them to do their job correctly.

I was supprised by the long lines, however they went very fast. There are staff that constantly check the line for what people need and the service is rather fast. Prepare to be attended to after 2 hours of your arrival.

I came on 7 December 2022 for my submission the lady with the name Nosipho or No what what she was full of attitude only to find out on 3 January 2023 that nothing was captured the doctor document was wrong I had to start from scratch with those lines the service is bad

If I could give 10stars I would. The Alberton team provided great service in my opinion especially considering the fact that there was a poweroutage in Alberton and loadshedding aswell.They assisted people with laptops in a semi dark area, as opposed to just sitting and saying they will wait for electricity to be restored. That for me was commendable.Swazi was patient and took time to explain the situation answer questions. Thank you sis Swazi, bhut'Siwe and the team, (didn't catch everyone's names) for the great work displayed this morning.

Never come to such an inconvenience,patentic service before..my dad isn't well ..He took his time went to Uif Alberton to sign ..GUESS WHAT???????????Nothing was captured on the system..when I check for him online nothing is updated.Meaning that he wasted his time to go and sign because of one uif employee who didn't do his or her job.I mean my dad is declared disabled he cant be running around like headless chicken because of employee who failed to do his /her Job.

Terrible service, even worse attitude and no wonder the process takes so long, half the staff I witnessed whilst there (a very long day from 6.30am to 3.30pm )were chatting away on their cell phones, doing very little work and now they demand an increase !!!! I was treated like a beggar despite having paid UIF for more than 30 years and never claiming before now. I have video footage but will not subject anyone to being fired in case they have to claim UIF and be treated in the same pathetic way I was.I lost my job in July, It is the end of November and I have still had no feedback. They don't answer their landlines or emails ( too busy on personal calls).

If there's a thing that's worse than 'pathetic' it's the staff here.So sad that there's no means of escalation or accountability. Every dog for himself.No point getting angry coz these staff have no future shame.
