The Royal Madikwe Luxury Safari Villas

Certainly the best hotel I've ever been. Since the check-in until the checkout, everyone treat us like kings and queens. Kevin was perfect as ranger, driving us to watch big5 and teaching us about the animals. And Simonee, Eva and all the staff made us feel at home and extremely comfortable. I love it and recommend.

Amazing place to stay with animals in an ultra luxury logde, meaning luxury as home stay feeling, warm people and team and very few guests. We were the only guests during the half of our staying there. Very good south African food, everything very fresh and an incredible personalized service and treatment! They made us feel like at home but in between elephants, rinos, Lyons or buffaloes!

Finally we're back again after 2 years of longing, this time for 5 nights. The reception was heartfelt and warming just as last time. With just 4 bungalows in operation you feel like you're home. The staff is always attentive and the food is just exquisite and beautifully presented. Adam keeps an excellent wine cellar to choose from.The location just by the water hole makes breakfast, lunches and dinners very exciting. Suddenly a heard of elephants may appear from north or a flock of impalas very carefully approach through the bushes from south-east.Our ranger this time on morning and afternoon safaris was Doctor. His knowledge of animal and plant life was just awesome. With his modest manners, very pleasant personality and knowledge on animal and plant life we had the time of our life.Royal Madikwe is a gem within a gem. Forget about Krüger, Pilanesberg or any of the other Game Reserves. This is where you need to be.

Thre were rains so at times water and electricity stopped. Solutions were found quickly. Food was good but not exceptional. Most drinks including beer wine cider were free in bedrooms good move.service was excellent but slow which iis in line with holiday of this kind. Seat belts are porvided on game drive vehicles. We advise that must be yoused. Better value than other sinilar lodges.

Super friendly and competent staff, the food is amazing, the location is magical. You won't be disappointed.

This place was simply excellent. Delicious food. Amazing views. It is right by one of the watering holes so every time we sat down for breakfast, lunch or dinner we saw family of elephants, zebras, even a lioness were just steps away! It was an amazing experience! Staff were friendly and polite. We stayed at one of the huts and it had its own little pool in the back. We would see wild animals strolling by while we watched them from the pool. Just perfection!

The Royal Madikwe was the first lodge we visited on a two-week three-lodge visit to SA and I return again and again to the photos from the lodge, the game preserve, the whole experience. I'm a well-seasoned traveler and The Royal Madikwe is in the top five of places I've had the fortune of spending some time. Yes, it is a splurge, but yes (as far as we know) you only live once. A stay here is not only luxurious, it is educational, awe-inspiring, and grounding. Words cannot effectively express how amazing this place, its people, and its surroundings are.

The hospitality is regal. TJ the field guide is Fantastic. He is knowledgeable and passionate about the bush. The other members of the team make your visit memorable.
