It's absolutely gorgeous, the gardens are beautiful. Unfortunately the food we got was not up to the same standard. Maybe it was just a bad batch but we had undercooked chips and raw cupcakes that tasted like baking soda

First time going, enjoyable lunch, nicely put together menus, lots of varied seating (inside, outside, by bar).What made it for me is the wide lawns, seeing people enjoying themselves outside at their own tables, and a beautiful little mini scenic route you can walk around and enjoy. Ducks, little bridges, an old well, the lamppost from Narnia - all create a cozy and scenic atmosphere. Best enjoyed with someone.

The service at this restaurant is very slow.Upon arrival we had to wait 2 hoursWe waited over an hour for the starters to come and another hour for the mainThe food came in very bland and one of our orders didn’t come in at all.On the main meal one of the orders ( one lamb shank) was hard on the bone and very tasteless.The owner himself came and commented “ We cook it in a batch and have never had complaints.” “ We can’t just cater to an individual pallet.” There was no room for improvement and no remorse for the paying customer.The scenery is absolutely lovely though.

Lovely piece of the Johannesburg countryside not far from civilisation. Took my Mother there for lunch and we sat in the sunshine. Great, friendly and efficient service and the food exceeded expectations. Beef and Guinness pie was excellent and enough for two. Extremely good value!

Firstly , the drinks took 45 mins to come . We made a reservation then when we got here they said they are fully booked and the kitchen is slow . The starters came after 2 hours ! When we complained about the lamb shank main being tough , the owner himself was dismissive and failed to even apologise for the bad quality of food . I think the owner is racist because when we made a complaint he was condescending and dismissive . I wouldn’t recommend this place especially if you are a person of colour . Rather go to McDonald’s.

A hidden treasure that I would definitely 110% recommend! I’ve been there multiple times and never had a bad experience. Great service, great food, really affordable prices, and it’s just a really beautiful venue with gardens, a stream and a duck pond, weeping willows over the tables, etc. It’s amazing there! Do take note though, there is a rule that says no under 15’s allowed (which in my opinion makes it better, but that might not be for everyone).

I went with my mother on a Sunday afternoon when the weather was lovely. While the setting was nice, the food was underwhelming and the wine choices were highly disappointing. The service also was not great, we sat with empty glasses and plates until we asked for them to be taken away. And ended up pouring our own wine and water as no-one was around to serve us. The only other good is that we got to walk around in the garden and take some pretty pictures.

It's like the Secret Garden come to life.Such a beautiful space to hang out or just chill with family.I also liked that kids under 15 are not allowed which was a bonus!The food was lovely. (The creme Brule simply divine)

We hosted my mother-in-law's life celebration here and from the start we knew we were at a special place. Gorgeous scenery with a very relaxed atmosphere (no children under 12 and no pets allowed). Aileen was so helpful and organized a very special an memorable occasion for us and our 25 guests. Great food (we chose form a selection of cakes and quiches) and good coffee. A true hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone!

Very pretty venue with lovely garden area. Service was unfortunately very slow. Everything from the drinks order to dessert took a long time to be delivered to the table. Food arrived in stages with long waits un between. Steak and chicken cordon bleu were cold and over cooked. We asked 3 times where desserts were and they only arrived when we said to cancel the order. Tables were being stripped around us but our order didn't arrive. A very disappointing experience overall.
