Astra Towing

After failing with mechanical assistance, when I got home I realized my car charger is missing. It was in the car when the car stayed overnight at Astra Towing.

Had to bring my Ford Ranger from Bloem to us. Picked up the vehicle. We phoned at a stage to hear when they will deliver, as it was taking much longer than anticipated. They did not answer and even declined the call. Also put the phone down in my husband's ear. After I sent them WhatsApp messages they lied and said there was a road block. (Really a 3hr roadblock?) The guy I spoke to was so rude to me I cannot believe that someone can speak to a client like that. Told me he is not lus" for my sarcasm and that he is not sitting and doing nothing he is busy. Could not tell me where the vehicle is. Lies after lies. The vehicle was eventually delivered with no apology or explanation as to why they refused to answer calls/rudeness or why they were late."

The took my car. For two weeks without saying anything when I call them the keep on saying we will bring you care I’m still waiting for my car to be fixed.

I have no idea why Outsurance uses this man, he is rude and tried to bully us into using his service.

Can not describe how bad the attitude was from Chris of Astra after Outsurance cancelled a non confirmed trip with them. How he tried to intimidate me into taking his service and then verbally attacked me and racially insulted me as an English speaking South African when I didn't comply with his bully boy tactics. Avoid at all costs. Thank goodness for Cobra.

Very bad service .. waited 5hours for service

As with all the other reviewers, I can’t believe my insurance, Discovery, uses these guys for towing. Chris managed to convince us not to take our car into the dealer (he said repairs would be cheaper with him, and my regular non-dealer mechanics were not available between Christmas and New Year). They got our car over Christmas and New Year’s, so at first the delays were understandable. They fixed one part eventually, at an inflated cost (R3700 instead of R2500 that my regular mechanics confirmed), but our car is now undriveable, while Chris “searches” for another part. In any case, after 2 weeks we started to feel like our car was being held hostage. When we came to collect our car today Chris threatened my wife (with a civil suit) when we said we would complain to Discovery if Astra didn’t help us get the car to our regular mechanics. So there we were, sitting outside Astra Towing, waiting for another Discovery towing contractor to tow it to some mechanics we can trust.
