Korea Market
It is unacceptable to sell items 9 months after their expiration date. The garbage in my bin should not be fresher than items I bought today. Gross. In response to the business attempting to explain that 'expired food is safe to eat':Expiration dates tell consumers the last day a product is safe to consume. Best before date on the other hand tells you that the food is no longer in its perfect shape from that date. It may just lose its freshness, taste, aroma or nutrients. It does not necessarily mean that the food is no longer safe to eat.The food we bought is EXPIRED, therefore, no longer safe to eat.

Of course I love this place. I lived in South Korea for three years. Has all the essentials, good snacks, good foods. Only disadvantage is the no pork policy. I find this unfair. South Koreans love pork and here at a South Korean market there's no pork. I feel that just as how some people are being catered for, pork eaters should be catered for as well. Other than that, 10/10. Expect me there regularlyyyyy. I see a review that mentions no alcohol". At the takeaway section

I often come here for sweet and spicy chicken and rice (I think it was R75 or R79), bulgogi kimbap (probably R65 or so) and tokkochi (R22). These 3 menu items never disappoint. The menu items are all halaal. They also have milk tea with tapioca pearls. I suggest the brown sugar tea. It's like R45.You will end up spending R150 - R200 if you bring a date but you won't regret it. Get food here and then head to Seapoint. They're still working on the sit down area.

Food was delicious! Ordered 2 chip corn dogs, one mozzarella and one with a sausage. Also got the bulgogi kimbap and sweet soy friend chicken. The chicken was literally amazing! It was so crunchy, had a touch of spiciness and everything was served fresh. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the location is not very inviting and the shop itself feels very bare and cold. Also sharing a pic of the menu with updated prices :)

What a hidden gem!The market is situated within the little shopping centre (sort of) opposite the pick n pay.Initially, the shop looks sort of empty but the shelves are fully stocked and they even have a typical Korean vending machine. There is even a little take away situated in the shop. Go enjoy!

Great convenience to have a Korean/Asian market nearby in the suburbs. It’s is well managed and clean and the move to St Peter’s Square welcome. Fresh, frozen and dried Korean and Asian ingredients easy to grab to top up supplies. Freshly made food is great! The staff are friendly and always able to assist. We wish the owners well and I also hope that in the future the shop will expand their stock with more variety of not only Korean but other Asian ingredients as well.

Went there on the morning of 26 March 2023. Got a few snacks and drinks. They have a wide variety of noodles but I'm not a fan of noodles so I didn't get any. I'm excited to try what I bought. It's an affordable place and enough space to walk around. I saw various vegetable oils, sauces and mayonnaise.

Korea Market is an interesting experience. It is basically your local market, but with Korean items. The vending machine is cool because its like a new experience. Also, because we don't have those types of machines in Cape Town. The main attraction is actually the food. There's so much hype revolving around it. Either way, I tried a few of what they had to offer. It's not too bad. No alcohol or pork sold. I had the experience, but I wouldn't specifically return unless I needed to. However, check it out. You might enjoy it.

A huge variety of products from drinks to noodles, snacks and more. They have good specials on some of the items. Their takeaway section always busy and serves the best Korean food. their drinks vending machine is very fun to use. Have nice selection of frozen products of dumplings, corndogs, wrappers etc.

What's not to love about the Korea Market in Obs. The selection of products and fresh ingredients surprised me on my first vist. It's likened to 7-Eleven or Family Mart in many Asian countries. One of the many things I continually miss. Use this store if you're after genuine Asian flavours and on a mission to recreate some popular dishes. Do not miss out on the snacks either. While it may not be for everyone it is fun to try and can be an experience shared with family and friends. Prices are reasonable considering import and customs charges so don't be surprised when items tend to cost a bit more than you've been accustomed to in Asia. Be prepared to spend a bit more and leave with items you didn't come for.
