Gethlane Lodge

A hidden gem with nice walking trails and lovely game. The friendliest people who go out of their way to help. I have visited twice and was equally impressed. Great birding.

Beautiful scenery and friendly staff. Resort buildings and facilities need urgent TLC. Accommodations very average. No privac and need upgrade . Staff need to be trained on proper cleaning of units.Was nice to see wild animals around the area . Jacuzzis very nice and clean.

The resort is beautiful. But that's allThe kitchen staff were not friendly and provide poor customer service. The jacuzzi we were booked in was not hot and faulty. The spa treatment doesn't take appointments seriously, we booked for 2pm but we were only assisted at 9pm for our treatment. The rooms were not cleaned and we didn't receive fresh towels. The resort didn't have ice in the extreme hot conditions.The only helpful person was Elmond.

Absolutely no idea why or how this place is so highly recommended! It was the worst lodge I've ever seen. Firstly the rooms, air-conditioning didn't work, water pressure was poor, couldn't even shower. The toilet was unable to flush and the room was dirty. The pool right next to our room was only about 10% filled with a mosquito infested swamp like amount of black water. The restaurant was unable to serve food for some or other reason. We ordered first drinks at 19:50 and never received it. By 20:55 no one was able to locate our waiter and we ended up leaving without food! 6 adults and 3 children went to bed hungry. Reception made no effort to try and fix their fault. The lodge's wifi is a joke and you can hardly use it. I will be reporting this place to the tourism board. I cannot believe how many people gave this place a good rating. I really do not understand.

My experience at Gethlane Lodge was exquisite. If you want a peaceful place for a holiday this is the place to be. My partner and I had a blast weekend way the place has a lot of activities, smell of nature beautiful place indeed, and the staff members there are very friendly, professional, loving and caring. Guys keep giving the good service.RegardsFaith

I wish something can be done about that nightmare of a gravel road to the Lodge. The bar & kiosk were forever closed, we were told to pay R150 to use other facilities only to find that the bicycles, pool table & other things were not in a good condition and couldn't be used, not happy about that.However, our overall stay was wonderful and the Lodge is very beautiful and we hoping to come back soon with our friends.

We had a great stay, my wife gave the place thumbs up in less than 5 minutes of our arrival.The staff is so friendly and welcoming from the manager to the maintanance guys.The only downfall is the gravel road going into the Lodge.We'll definitely come back and by the way this was our wedding anniversary getaway.

Stayed here for four days, the facilities were great, the staff did everything to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Their walking trail was amazing the views were stunning. The food was okay, there was lots to do and a lot of nearby areas to visit

If you want a well rounded experience, this is the place to do it. Just a few notes of criticism: we had no hot water in the upstairs of unit 33. Housekeeping didn't bring toilet paper. There were just some inconsistencies, but despite that it was a lovely stay. Lots of animal sightings and personal attention from the staff. I'd love to go back eventually.
