Phoenix Vet

My dog was not eating or drinking on Thursday. Took him to the vet, there in no sense of order. All pets and owners are expected to sit in one area. Sicknesses can easily be passed from one pet to another like this. On this first visit, the vet took a blood sample and looked at it under a microscope. She said he had parvovirus. As far as I am aware, a test is supposed to be done to confirm this. No test was done whatsoever. She gave two injections and medication to give at home. This was very difficult as he was not eating or drinking. There was no improvement so we had to go back on Saturday and Sunday. On both of these days, she had put him on a drip for about 45 minutes to an hour, still convinced that he had parvo. Once done with a drip, she gave the same anti nausea injection as she did on Thursday (which was not helping). On Monday, my dog looked like he was going to drop dead at any minute. On Tuesday, I was not going to waste my time and money going to this vet. My dog couldn't even open his eyes or stand on his own. He was gone extremely thin and very dehydrated but had severe vomiting and diarrhea. I went to Dr Reddy in Mount Edgecombe. He did a parvo test and it was negative. He advised that the best thing to do was to admit him at Ashburne Veterinary hospital. He advised that he could give the dog injections and put him on drips, but that won't help if the dog isn't eating and that's where we were struggling. He did not even charge for consultation, only for the parvo test. My dog was admitted at Ashburne on Tuesday afternoon . We fetched him on Thursday afternoon and he was back to life. He put on some weight and had started eating on his own. The vomiting stopped and his stools were slowly getting back to normal. They administered meds that were so easy to give him.Maybe my dogs situation was a little different than most, but if you do want to save your pet, I wouldn't recommend you to go to this vet. It was honestly a waste of time and money.

Both Doctor and Receptionist were amicable. It is a bit of an issue that they don't open regularly and you have to keep calling to find out when exactly they open. Waited for 1 and a half hours for a one minute injection due to no appointments being taken. Will continue going for annual vaccinations but for emergency cases or serious ill health of your fur baby, I would definitely not recommend.

Extremely unprofessional!!! The receptionist is awfully rude. These people are in it in for fee. They don't have a heart towards pets! It's such a shame since her career path should be her passion. 2 pets died right infomront of me and she did not once sympathize. Her receptionist was asking them to pay the fee instead for 3 minutes treatment. I only went to that vet because I was desperate to treat my fur baby.

Pathetic service at Phoenix vet. He did not even check my dog properly and has no equipment.. I walked in and out. he gave me medications and when it was finished he was still the same.. So I phoned the receptionist and explained myself to her. She said I must bring him back and pay 250 so I asked to speak to the vet and she said he does not take calls.. I was so angry cos I just paid 550 a few days ago.. I had to take my dog to the spca.. The vet took 45 minutes for the consult and did bloods and some other tests.. Will never recomend anyone or even go back there he's only there for the money

Absolutely horrible experience taking my puppy for his vacations, I would not recommend this place to any responsible pet owner. The vet is only concerned with money and not with the well being of animals, the wait time is quick because they do not conduct a proper examination nor listen to owners concerns. I recommend taking your pet to the Phoenix SPCA or a proper veterinary practitioner.

This is the worst vet ever. These people are not professional at all. The veternarian was so arrogant, rude and wasn't even friendly to my fury baby's. He refused to treat my kitty professionaly and we didnt even get a chance to mention all the the things that were wrong with my cat. We took them for their annualy vaccination and they provided us with very poor service and had no care whatsoever for my baby. The veternarian is not good at all.

I visited the clinic today as my cat was unwell for 2 days and was not eating food. She was sleeping for 6 hours at time and not responding to her toys (which is rather unusual for her). The vet was incredible. He spent 30 minutes examining her. He was calm and patient and listened to my concerns attentively. He handled her with so much of care. I was hesitant to take her there because of the bad reviews I had read. However, my experience was pleasant. He gave her 3 injections and gave me antibiotics to give her for 5 days. Two hours after visiting the clinic, she started eating and is slowly regaining her strength.

Was advised to go see him after my dog got sick. He at least took the time to see my dog, examine him and advised me on what I needed to do before they could start examining to see what was wrong... he never charged me for this and was helpful, professional and I will use him in the future...

Really disappointed that someone who has been in the medical field for so long didn't pickup that my dog was Anaemic. He treated the dog for Pavo instead of being anaemic. As a result on new years day which was a day later I saw that my Baby still was very sick. I rushed her to the Ashburne Vet Hospital and they did Emergency blood transfusion for her. Sadly it was all too late and my baby succumbed to her sickness. As per them if my baby had been brought in atleast a day earlier they were confident of her being Alive today. They did confirm that it was mismanagement from whichever vet I took her to Prior. I didn't confront this Vet because I'm emotional about the situation and would probably handle this personal matter in an unlawful way. As a result simply kept away
