THE BAOBAB BUSH LODGE

We had a great time at Baobab. The room was clean with air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. The pool was perfect to cool off in and we loved the outdoor shower in our room too. Kirsten and Edwin were so lovely and accommodating. They organised safaris with a packed breakfast, hot air ballooning and massages. Would definitely stay again.

The owners were awesome. Our room was nice and very chic.If it was a bit closer the Kruger National park we would definitely stay the whole one week that we were in the area.Loved it.

My time at The Baoab Bush Lodge was really special. The first day that I arrived I immediately knew I was in paradise. The sight of all the suites with the pool in the middle is very beautiful, you can feel the relaxing atmosphere and that you're one with nature. The pool has an infinity waterfal and during the night the pool is lighted which is very luxurious. Beside the pool is a place with two chairbeds that are facing the bush. That is real reality tv. You can just sit back, relax and watch animals that are frequently coming to drink from the small pool of water that is strategically placed for the animals.The most amazing part was the hospitality of the owners: Edwin and Kirsten. They make you feel at home in an instant and you can have good and very fun conversations with them. They have a lot of crazy stories about their life in the bush and how they realised their dream by starting the lodge. I slept in the Leopard suite which is very beautiful. The best part of the room was the outside shower. Showering while having a green deck of leaves and the blue sky above is an amazing feeling, I did that every morning. But in the evening there is also a light for the outside shower, so that is even more special. But inside was also a really good shower.The Boabab Bush Lodge is situated in the Hoedspruit wildlife estate and it is directly neighbouring the bush. So you can just walk of the terrain, straight into the bush and see a lot of animals. When I was walking the dogs I frequently saw giraffe, impalas, zebra's and many many beautiful birds. I bet you can't have that in your home town. Another benefit of the location is that the wildlife estate does not allow light pollution. Therefore you can see soo many stars at night, you can even see the milky way. It is a truly unique safari experience.

This is a lovely place, the star for me was our room. Loved the bed and spacious bathroom, the outdoor shower is amazing!

The tranquility of the bushveld...we spent our Christmas at this lodge. We used the facility as our base to do the Panorama route and the Blydriver canyon. Excellent service by staff. The only downside is on checkout when you need to pay for food and beverages consumed, I was showed a hand written notes with the amount owed with a verbal details when I enquired. Hope they will automate the invoicing system soon...other than that, great place, won't mind going back!!

Good things:* Lovely pool* Good breakfast* Lots of wildlife* AirconditioningComplaints:* Dust from the roof collected on the bed sheets, recommend putting in ceiling.* Towels were too small.* Bathtub were too small. Not suited for two people.* Linnen is not white, it was stained and yellowed.* Very little place to put clothing, recommend a big closet.* WIFI does not reach the room.* Dinner and pizza night can only be held if there are 4 or more people. Not suited for a honeymoon couple.* No alternative power when load-shedding occurs.* Dogs barking inside the bigger living area.* Parking is far from the room especially if you have to carry heavy bags.* Vending machine does not work.* Did not feel very welcome and home, everything were locked up at evening. Thus unable to play board games or eat some fruit or watch a movie as there were no WIFI in our room but only at the dining area.* Only one staff member to attend to everyone and everything.

Very warm and friendly staff, especially Charlie. The rooms were very nice and comfortable bed. The outside shower OMG.... feeling the warm water running down my body while looking at the skies.... Incredible. You've got to make a turn to this lodge you won't regret it
