De Uijlenes: Weddings, Accommodation & Restaurant
We got married here on 12/05/2018. It was the perfect venue for us, who likes more rustic and humble places and events. The staff are wonderful and made sure everything went perfect. It is an ideal wedding venue for people who likes a safe space to have a weekend event with family and close friends.

A step back in time! What an experience and suprise this was. A manor house built in the Cape Dutch style from the 1700 was to be the backdrop situated on the banks of the Breede river. Our group was accommodated in various rooms situated in outhouses that had been converted into onsuite bedrooms as well rooms in the manor house. I can say without doubt my bed was the most ornate i have ever slept in! Not to mention the priceless furniture and artwork. The pub, once a bakery, is the centre of activity after 7pm, ordained with photos, memorabilia and paintings of aviation. Situated in one of the outbuildings with a cozy massive fireplace and genuine barcounter. It was a pleasant suprise to say the least after a day of flower hunting!Dinner was a fancy affair with 16 of us seated at the table. A 3 course dinner followed with ingredients sourced from the farm and Julian regaling us with the history of the farm under candlelight, what a great experience! After dinner we retired to the drawing room filled with the most beautful historical period furnature where Julian entertained us on the baby grand with his classical training coming to the fore. All round a must do" stay and experience and I suggest you stay for at least 2 nights."
