Wonderful hike did 15km because we made some mistake somewhere was only planning a 12 km walk. It was clean, fresh air lovely next to the river. We had pizza for lunch which was yummy. We were so hungry that I never got a chance to take a photo.

Stopped by to experience the cheese tasting, which unfortunately has been suspended due to COVID precautions. Instead had a snack lunch of a 4 piece salmon California roll and my wife had the kiddies Margarito, service was friendly and prompt, the pizza arrived good and hot. Overall a very pleasant setting, atmosphere and food. I did manage to buy some Stinging Nettle Cheese which I am looking forward to trying.

What a place to be for a nice drive and a wonderful outing in a beautiful country setting. Next to the Scheerpoort river. A real cheese farm with a great farming atmosphere. A very enjoyable visit. Lots to do and also enjoyable for kids. Walking trails of up to 80 kilometers, picknik areas and small game drives. A great visit. Enjoy your visit

I've been on many hiking trails in Hartebeespoort, but this hidden gem definitely belongs at the top of the list. There are several trails to choose from and the trails are all well-marked and easy to follow. There are a lot of different sections and terrains, forest areas, a river, bridge crossings, tree tunnels, open fields. The change of scenery with every turn makes the hike even more exciting. There is so much to do on the farm that you'll definitely have to make another trip. Cheese tours, various farm animals to see, a plant nursery, lovely restaurants and picnic spots with convenient picnic tables, for a pleasant picnic experience. You can pack your own picnic and enjoy all that's on offer, or the restaurant sells a variety of different Picnic baskets if you're in the mood for a spontaneous picnic. The overall experience was amazing, from the moment you're greeted by the friendly staff, to the many activities on offer. Take a day out and see for yourself. You won't ve disappointed!

Loved this beautiful hike, mostly along the river, on the green route. It has a special rustic charm and the restuarant has fantastic food. Will definately try the wine and cheese platter next time, or a picnic by the river!

Very fun to see the cheese made on site. Lovely outside area. Service was good, and manager handled complaints well. Unfortunately I had one of the pastas and it made me nauseus; no flavour besides cream. I recommend getting the only thing they're good for: a sandwich/ burger with one of their house cheeses. 3 small dogs run between tables begging for food, not sure what's up with that #HealthAndSafety?

Great experience at the cheese farm. The cheese tour includes not only a cheese tasting after an very informative demonstration on how to make cheese but also a slice of apple cake with coffee/tea. The farm is beautifully located with the Magaliesburg mountains in the background. Numerous walking/cycling routes of varying length available stretching over the neighboring farms. The cheese making is sustainable; the milk is from the local farm Jasmyn and the whey that's extracted from the milk is given to a pig farmer that uses it as feed. The shop offers cheese and other Dutch goods. There is a restaurant on site. The decor adds to the authenticity of the farm. Highly recommend a visit to the farm.

Such wonderful riding and well designed trails. Some trails shared with hikers and some trails are two-way, but they’re pretty easily shared. And wow - such beautiful scenery and lovely facilities. Definitely in my Top 3 for mountain bike riding in and around Gauteng. Intermediate and advanced riders - try some of the adjoining trails for some extra distance and a really great challenge. They use some of the surrounding gravel roads and farms and really are wonderful... but they can get tough!

A very fun experience out there away from the busy city life. If you live in Johannesburg it is a small drive but we'll worth it. The scenery is beautiful with animals all around you. I recommend trying out the meals with all the different cheeses as that is what this farm is known for.
