I regret joining this awful gym. They are a nightmare when you want to cancel your membership.My membership expired and continued on a month to month basis without my knowledge. The contract says they'll give you at least 2 months notice before your contract expires so you can cancel or let it run on a month to month basis, I never received a notice.When I discovered I was still being charged, my bf called to cancel his contract ( we signed up together) and was told he wouldn't have to pay. When I called I was told a completely different story. I cancelled my contract but I was told will still be charged for 2 months because I didn't give a 20 day's notice. Why am I supposed to give notice but you aren't?They are rude on the phone, hang up on you and it takes days to have someone answer the phone.

Bunch of pathetic people, when I ask for the call history they can't give it when I speak to the same lady then she don't know anything, one person say active membership other one say it's been cancelled in February, the one agent feeds the other one what to tell the clients so they can all speak the same tone but lucky I called the wrong person first when I exposed them with their lies then they come up with different stories about the deducted money.....Be on lookout for the scaly people,they operate like a Nigerian and Congolese syndicate......

Extremely incompetent.I asked for a gym subscription cancellation and reimbursement, they did not respond to tell me whether my request was admissible or not and just cancelled my subscription though they were CALLED by my branch to tell them that if I could not be reimbursed, I would want to keep my subscription. They tossed me back and forth, made me miss out on the last two weeks of my subscription and now refuse to pay me back as if it was my fault. Your service is horrendous, absolutely horrendous and you have no respect for your customers who visibly have to pay for your mistakes

When Ignite isn't trying to scam you out of your money, they are lying to customers. I posted a negative review here a week ago, then they replied to my review and pretended to care. They asked me to fill up some form with my details so they can get in contact with me and try to solve my issue. I'm still waiting for them to contact me a week later. They were very quick to reply to my negative comment in a way that made them look like they care, to save their imagine. Very disgusting behaviour.

My account is being wrongfully debitted.This is UNETHICAL!!!! I deeply regret ever signing with Ignite Fitness. The so-called 'retentions agent' has been nothing but USELESS!!!I'm getting no customer service what so ever. I've tried reaching out numerous times. It seems that the organisation is rotton to the core and deeply mismanaged.

Worst service I've experienced. Can't reply to emails. Have been having issues with them regarding my contract as well as some other things. But they are very quick to take your money, but can't help you.

When I first started at this gym it had just opened in Claremont. They said they will be getting a generator. I signed the contract and was satisfied. I recommended the club to locals and customers at my restaurant that has been in the area for 9yrs. In a very short time I realised like many unhappy clients that it feels like a scam. The club in Claremont still doesn't have a generator and hot water after a year, the rechargeable lights have faded and they obviously are too cheap to purchase new ones to the disgraceful extent that I was told to wait outside for them to re-open. Previously clients were told to leave due to loadshedding, using the patronizing excuse again that they worried about our safety. They are probably the only business that closes during loadshedding since they have signed contracts. Many customers have said they all going back to Virgin active and have gained a very bad name due to the lack or no effort made from senior management to warrant any further commitment. In saying that, the only positive is that its a quiet gym thats about to become even quieter ;)

Low tier black female staff at help desk in Cape Town. Fitness is nice when they sign you up but when you ask for termination assistance suddenly these haffers hang up on you and block your calls. I'm done with negative treatment by black hoes in customer service.

I am a Discovery vitality client. I reside closer to the Waterstone village mall, the gym there is aligned with Discovery, although the gym is absolutely slammed all the time.I decided to join the Ignite Somerset gym. I paid my deposit with the intent to start training only in July.Beginning of July, I am debited the monthly amount - I found it strange, but, whatever........I am able to train again.Middle of July, I notice that my card has stopped working and the front desk assistants need to constantly over-ride my access with the excuse that it is most likely some system glitch.Eventually, I go to the gym during the day and give them my card to find out what is going on. I do not have time to stand and look at someone every time so that they can let me in with some system issue?It then turns out that due to some debit issue, my account is now in arrears. I havent even been training at the gym for long enough but my account is blocked and in arrears. Never in my life have I ever heard of something so strange before.I end up paying the default amount of R250 for June - note, I paid the deposit on the 26th of June sot hat I may start training in July. How can I be in arears?Nevertheless, I ask for your Manager, Rika to contact me. She makes telecom contact with me asking me to come back to the gym - after I have already left. I told her this was not possible as I was en route to anther engagement.Nevertheless, she sends me an email to try and deal with the situation, which didnt really address my concerns or make any sense of how your memberships are charged.In August I inform the front desk that I am changing my bank account and fill out the form to update my banking details.Last week Friday I note that again, the incorrect account has been debited. I email Rika to bring this to her attention, no response is received.Saturday morning I receive an sms from ignite stating that my account is now suspended due to non payment.I call your gym and I am made aware that she is on duty and the message will be given to her to contact me - 10h00 Saturday morning.At 16h00 I then go to the gym to find out what is going on. I speak with the front desk staff that tell me she has left for the day and she was given my message. I voice my dissatisfaction at this very poor service and complete lack of management ability and I ask to pay the account manually - again.This time I am told that the amount is more because the debit has bounced. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Frustration*The offer is made that the staff will override my entry so I can train over the weekend which I decline.I refuse to pay the extra amount for the debit order not going off the correct account and I have again filled out the form for the change of account.I have received a very brief email on Sunday eventually from Rika acknowledging my email but not offering any assistance or remedy for the issue.I think it is now at the point where your corporate office needs to handle the situation as what is the point of me trying to deal with your management team at the branch anymore?

Good morning. I enjoy training at the Somerset West branch but disappointed to see broken equipment not being fixed. Many promises was made in the beginning that faulty equipment will be replaced but it does not happen. Why is this. Same with the juice bar. Nothing happens there as well. It is a really nice gym but they need to step up with promises not being delivered.
