I had such a good experience at the Goodwood branch. The nurses, medical staff, kitchen staff and cleaning are amazing. I expected the worst based on reviews but was pleasantly surprised by how much compassion, kindness and dignity they treated us with. A special shoutout to Nurse Chantal, Nurse Debbie, Sister Cele, Nurse Salie, Nurse Harold and Donavan in the kitchen for going the extra mile for us. Yes the night nurses were less pleasant and all had different rules each time different staff came on duty. Some things to note to future visitors... You can bring in snacks when admitted but no visitors are permitted to bring in food from outside. Only cigarettes, clothing and toiletry drop offs permitted. There's a Landry service available but its quite pricy. Theres a tuckshop open a couple of hours on some weekdays only, not on weekends or public holidays but they're very expensive. Card machines available only for R50 spend or more. Theres a vending machine available that only accepts coins so come prepared. Prepare to hand in your cellphone by 10pm at night. The O.T lifeskills and art classes were very insightful and fun. The overall stay was good except for a few hiccups here and there but the day staff really made up for it. A huge thanks to the amazing staff in Goodwood. We appreciate you.

I would urge anyone having a loved one admitted to think twice before considering this facility. This is my first negative review of anything but this was really terrible. Someone dear to me was transferred here and was treated like a number. This person needed professional help and did not get the expected care, kindness and compassion that I would have expected. I have to say that the receptionist was totally awesome but unfortunately the rest of the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would rate this at a '0' if I could.

It’s really sad hurting that all the nurses and sisters here is pathetic except one or two. The lady with the short read hair is the best ever she should impart of her skills. The last time I used West Beach and all of them were more than 100%. I forced myself here at Claro due t my psychiatrist and psychologist whom I need. The one nurse, Crystal Curby is for ever fed up and has such a bad attitude. Do they not know that we need medical staff who can deal with the emotional torn people? She can go work at Baragawanath Hospital. Please Anton these people bring life part and medi clinic name into huge disrepute. #mediclinic

The nurses here are 10/10 highly recommended. They've made every single stage of recovery so smooth and comfortable. They do not get enough credit for the job they do. Also the kitchen and housekeeping staff are so nice too. This is definitely an investment for your mental health. Definitely going to miss them when I leave. Want to make a shoutout to Nurse Crystal and Nurse Eunice Meyer not because of anything but their positive vibes and great energy.

Unethical Conduct by Accounts SectionAlmost a year after my admission to Claro Clinic, I was contacted by debt collectors for an outstanding account which had not been settled by my medical aid. I was never informed about the outstanding amount before it was handed over to debt collectors. My medical aid also had no record of any unsettled claims from the clinic.2 Major issues arose from this conduct:- Medical aids are legally allowed to decline accounts which are older than 4 months from the date of service. I was only made aware of the account for the first time after almost a year.- Debt collectors add their own additional fee/commission to the account and there are potential detrimental effects on a person's credit record. There was no record of the account being sent to me first.Email correspondence to have the case withdrawn from debt collectors was ignored. It required a confrontational telephonic dispute to get some cooperation from the accounts staff. They initially abdicated any responsibility, claiming they could do nothing" and insisted I liaise with the debt collectors. My case was eventually withdrawn from the debt collectors and my medical aid ultimately agreed to pay the claim late based on evidence of previous submission by Claro Clinic. The clinic itself is reasonably pleasant."

I have been speaking telephonically with Sharon, she has been extremely helpful. Thank you Sharon, you are an asset to Claro Clinic. I have heard the 21 days programme teaches great life skills, it is a pity that it does not accommodates moms with little children who cannot sleep away from home.
