Maynardville Open-Air Theatre
Never disappointed by a Shakespeare production at Maynardville. Been coming back year after year. A brilliant experience under the stars in a cozy amphitheatre surrounded by trees. Make a whole evening of it by packing a picnic and arriving early to sit on your blanket and enjoy the surrounding park before the show. Not to be missed.

Gorgeous venue and well run events. What’s not to love. Chairs could maybe be a bit more comfortable, best bring a tiny cushion.

Maynardville Open-Air Theatre
A beautiful open air theatre protected by bamboo and the stage framed by old established trees. We went to listen to the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra which was a delight to watch. Well worth a visit to listen to or watch some of the theatre pieces that make up a yearly season. Take a picnic basket and enjoy the wooded park beforehand.

I really enjoyed the experience we went to see Shakespeare in the park in the evening. It was a lovely vibe, bustling with people . There were food trucks, a beer gatden and bar. The food was pricey so be prepared. I would recommend getting there early as the tables dotted around fill up quickly. The actual play was very good.

Maynardville Open-Air Theatre
We saw the 2023 production of Midsummer Night's Dream and it was phenomenal. I've been going to Shakespeare at Maynardville for over 30 years and it's always such a great night out. I was a little skeptical of the food trucks vibe as opposed to bringing our own picnic, but they had some good options and we enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this staging, and the experience as a whole.
