Shocking to discover foreign workers with only high school got critical skills permits as office administrators. Seriously how much corruption is there at the Ministry of Home Affairs? But for doctors and Masters degree workers in IT get turned away.

Unfortunately I was not aware that you needed an appointment here. The entrance has a notification that you will be helped by appointment only and no walk-ins are allowed. Stood in a queue at the door for about 30minutes trying to make an appointment. Sadly their online system is ridiculously slow and after about 25 attempts no appointment slot could be found for the next month and a half. Eventually they did let us in and it took about 60min to apply and pay for an ID smart card - the entire process went quite smoothly and the staff are friendly and helpful. Was a pleasant experience as far as home affairs usually goes.

For more than a week now all services are suspended because the “system” is down. Nobody knows when it is going to work. Main website is off and even the telephone number does not answer; it is “unobtainable “. Presumably Martian attack.By now the minister should resign but it is probably the minister’s buddies that have the contract to do the job although incompetent.This scandalous situation isn’t even reported in the media. How Standards are slowly going down and nobody notices anymore or protests against it.

Do not answer phones. Nedbank Arcadia has no phones and no ways of knowing if they online. Just keep wasting the peoples time and money!

I have tried phoning Home Affairs offices from around the entire country from Pretoria to Cape Town and of all of them nobody can answer a phone if it even rings at all. This is laughably bad. I expect the bare minimum and somehow you still disappoint me.

No ones answers the phone!The site is difficult to login as by the time you receive the OTP the page refreshes or the OTP expires or you don't get an OTP for an hour. Just having the site working and being able to do the things citizens need to do will be a huge improvement!For those that are trying to get an otp, the best time to get the site sort of working is early in the morning (06:00-07:00)before the site experiences too much traffic(that it clearly can’t handle).

I applied for an unabridged birth certificate for my SA citizen son at Centurion branch of DHA and after more than 7 months and numerous telephonic enquiries nothing has been fothcoming.
