We had a great tour! The crew was super nice and considerate, and the marine biologist was very enthousiastic. They make sure you see at least some wildlife, but do it in a very respectful way and they have tons of projects to support the local marine wildlife.

From the start to the full end of the tour you are taken care off. The best marine biologist ever of dream of are on the boat. Awesome trip, worth taking it and you see much more and experience the big 5 close up front. Bonus on your return trip you might see and go pass where the do shark cage diving and see a shark? The experience you cannot decribe till you do it yourself.. trip takes about from report and you pre safety briefing to back on shore 4 hours. Welcome back snack or drink are provided..*****service

Had an amazing time. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The curio shop had good photographic equipment and clothing as well as locally made momentos. We booked a day out with the whales. Saw no fewer than ten of them right next to the boat. Some breached the water. Southern Right Tip Whales. Saw copper bronze whaler sharks as well as we passed by a shark cage dive. On arrival we were served delicious warm bran muffins and on return a lovely vegetarian soup and bread. The Gansbaai town 5 minutes away has everything you need, even nausea tablets from the pharmacy.

We had a great boat tour with Dyers Island. We could see seals, penguins, sharks and two different species of dolphins. Unfortunately there was no whale. The team is very caring and nice. We would participate again. Because of the waves, we can definitely recommend taking seasickness tablets before. We felt great because of it, others had difficulties with Seasickness.

Great atmosphere at the establishment. The play area is a little bit small, but enough if there isn't other kids around. The Great White House is definitely a must do when visiting the Gansbaai area.We had there baked cheesecake and it was heavenly. Prices are reasonable and not overpriced. It is wheelchair accessible so all is welcome there.

Passionate and caring crew. They could talk with you about their work and experiences for hours. They aren’t out to take money from you, they simply just care.Especially Jax, the young but experienced female tour guide. Thanks for the lovely time and if you read this: buy a penguin-home. For it could be the last time you see them.

This was an unforgettable and educational experience. We went on the Marine Big 5 Cruise back in Oct 2022. The staff were wonderful and we had an excellent guide. We saw whales, seals, penguins and seabirds and received a hearty bowl of soup on our return. Everyone had seating place and the boat was not overcrowded. We were kept comfortable throughout the whole trip and given the correct safety gear.

I’m sure this is a fantastic trip at the right time of year (when whales, sharks and dolphins are in the area) and when the weather is nice. Unfortunately we had neither. The company is very clear they can’t guarantee sightings which makes perfect sense. I’m not sure they should always take the boat out when the weather is bad though. Most of our trip we were within dense fog and mist with large swells.January is not the time to see whales or Great white sharks. We did not see any Dolphins. We saw seals and a few penguins. You will get a much better view of penguins on Boulders Beach in the Cape Peninsula. Most of Dyers Island is covered with thousand of Cormorants and it is very hard to pick out the penguins. The guides make sure everyone has seen a penguin though before they move on.They take you to the area where other guests are shark cage diving (although it’s really cage dunking as you don’t use tanks) as that is your best chance to see a shark ( but not great whites as it isn’t the right time of year) . Right when we arrived, one shark fin came up near the divers but none other surfaced. They toss chum into the water to try to attract the sharks but the water had dropped in temperature so they weren’t activeI did get nauseous on this trip because with the fog it was very difficult to see the horizon and the water was very choppy. There is a toilet on board . I did not use itThe crew is very good and tries their best to give you a great experience.I would suggest booking only during whale season and don’t go if there is heavy fog. You do lose 100% of your booking fee if you cancel within 72 hours. While we didn’t enjoy our experience, we just considered it a donation conservation .
