Sunbird Restaurant & Bar
I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while. Their Social media posts were luring me to them. We had an outdoors table overlooking the Atlantic Beach golf course and the sea in the distance. We loved all 3 tapas dishes ordered and the kids pizzas were delicious too. Service was just as great. We will be back.

We were excited to try Sunbird As had heard great things from friends with little kids. One of the parties at dinner with us ordered the beef truffle mushroom burger. When it came the meat stank and was inedible. When we complained the staff felt that we were saying we didn't like the flavour until I literally stuck a piece of the meat on a fork in her face. Without saying anything and a disgusted expression she took the plate to the kitchen. She herself smelt the stink. This meat was without a doubt off. The person who’s burger it was had one bite and today has a very upset stomach. We were comped the burger and another main course. Which was nice however management came to us at the end and insisted that the burger was Ostrich that smells funny and not off. Either at the meat was inedible and to be honest whilst this is a nice location I don’t think I can eat there ever again. We are also not squirmish eaters and like stinky cheese for the example. I have them two stars because we got the meal and one other main course comped but there should have been more accountability and apologizing for rotten meat.

Good food great view. This is the restaurant for the golf course. Excellent variety of dishes (all four of us enjoyed our choices) and good drinks. We didn’t try their cocktails but expect they would have been very good. This was the perfect meal for our travels. A little weird getting into the area but worth the little bit of a hassle. Great experience.

5 star experience at Spur or Cattle Baron pricing. it's a no brainer that this restaurant should be on your monthly, if not weekly restaurant list.The food is always fresh, beautifully put together with creativity and care.The views are to die for.The kitchen staff always look hard working, passionate and determined to put out the best!Grace and Vimbai are wonderful and set a standard not many can keep up to.Thank you for being a phenomenal experience every time!

Beautiful setting, outstanding food and a overall lovely restaurant in terms of ambiance and decor.Service was not the greatest but this is related the person servicing us not being attentive at all. Very uninterested in her job....

Delicious, perfectly prepared and presented food. Well trained, friendly staff. The menu has enough options and we certainly have our favourites. Warm, casual atmosphere and comfy seating. We love it.

Sunbird Restaurant & Bar
On 30 Sept 2022 I had lunch at the SUNBIRD @ Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbosstrand. The menu is quite impressive. I ordered Pork Belly ( R179), which was served by Grace within 15 minutes. The dish was crispy and tasty. My mark for that is 8 out of 10. Next time I shall try the lamb shank or the fresh hake & chips
