Ithala Game Reserve
Very poor service at the restaurant. Price for hamburger to high for what you get. Chicken Hamburger was dry, no sauce, very small portion of chips. Beef burger with no sauce and very small portions of chips. Will never visit the restaurant again.

Stunning stunning Parc. We stayed in one of the houses in the main camp. The view from the restaurant is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the houses are a little out dated and not well maintained. But would still 100% recommend

Ithala Game Reserve
Absolutely stunning park ! Such amazing scenery! If you are a bush lover who loves peace and quiet then this is the place for you . 4 x4 is essential for full value of the self drives , the route to the Ponghola picnic site is a MUST ! We stayed at the main camp, make sure you do the self guided walks - follow the elephant footprints up the mountain and enjoy the sunsets ! Camp and chalets were clean and staff lovely but thatch roofs in a lot of the chalets are in desperate need of repair . The upside was that those chalets aren’t in use so it’s even more peaceful and quiet !

Ithala Game Reserve
We stayed in one of the two bed chalets. It was excellent and reasonable. We dis two game drives while we were here, saw rhinos and elephants both times, along with other animals. This park is huge. Nice breakfast.

Ithala Game Reserve
Very beautiful reserve. Wild camping experience. Most roads require a 4x4 vehicle and they seem to be getting worse at the moment. The campsite facilities are good for a wild campsite but the road in the camping area is very eroded and washed away. We found the restaurant food and service very good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Allow enough time to travel to the park, the roads are not good and way too many speed bumps.The park is amazing, something different in that there are great self guided hikes. Lots of off-road terrain, make sure your vehicle can handle the route chosen.The accommodation is near and tidy, friendly staff.

Fantastic facilities at reception. Stayed 2 nights at the rustic unfenced Bush camp next to the river. Roads do need 4 x 4 vehicles! Very rocky and steep. Highly recommended to unwind from city life or experience the vast African bushveld.

Ithala Game Reserve
Wonderful location beneath huge cliffs, lovely fully equipped rondavels (on special offer at present, with free breakfast included), plenty of wildlife and amazing birds. Gift shop is best we've seen in several SANParks, and bar & restaurant availsvle too. And the sweetest little pool to cool off in on a hot day! Roads leave a little to be desired, but get here while you can!

Ithala Game Reserve
The reserve is a real gem. Really well kept by the staffand are to be congratulated. Camping is view it should be, rustic and no electricity. Open air showers are great with hot water. Preferable to have a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle to get to the campsite. My favourite campsite.

Ithala Game Reserve
The park is beautiful, the landscapes on the fabulous mountains. However, don't forget your 4x4 or your big car because some roads are impassable for city cars. Little regret not to see as many animals as in the other parks. It remains a place.
