Etnas Southern Tip Self-Catering Accommodation Office

We had an unfortunate accommodation experience which was made worse by Cornel of Etnas. Cornel was neither helpful nor ethical and in her feeble attempt to screw us over, she outright LIED TO AIRBNB! However, rightly so, justice prevailed- we received a full refund from Airbnb!

STAY AWAY from Etna’s accommodations! I very rarely write a bad review, but I’m compelled to write this one to warn people about the company and, in particular, the manager Cornel. We had a special family holiday almost ruined by this person. We stayed at one of the houses she manages through Airbnb, but upon arrival noticed that the fridge wasn’t working, which meant that all the food we’d traveled with for hours, enough for our 4-day stay, would quickly go bad. Despite the handyman coming out later that day, the fridge was never fully operational and, according to the handyman he had previously come out for this same fridge which had issues for a while and he had told Cornel it needed replacing. Cornel knew it had not been working, but decided it wasn’t important enough to resolve for her guests. The end result was that much of our food went bad and we couldn’t get our beers cold! As the day progressed we found out that the dishwasher didn’t work at all. Then, there was no hot water in the showers nor kitchen sink. Then, the microwave glass table didn’t turn, so only cooked part of the food. Then, we found blood on 2 of the pillows!!! But one of the worst things about this house was that the garden was unkept and was literally blanketed in spiney thorns, which punctured one of the kid’s bikes and left all of us with thorns in our feet. It was impossible to walk barefoot outside or inside because the thorns were soon being walked and blown Inside the house too. I still have some thorn bits stuck in the sole of my trainers! Cornel agreed that if we moved to another place she would refund us in full, so we found a place a few houses down for the same price and moved immediately - it was a wonderful place! But…. Cornel was obviously displeased about us moving so she wrote to Airbnb and told them she would only refund 2 of the 4 nights, despite the fact that we only stayed 1 night (with no hot water and no working appliances and dirty bedding). To justify her mean-spirited decision, she outright lied to Airbnb saying we were more people than we were, and that we were “just upset because the weather was miserable”. The weather was absolutely fine, it was her house and management that was miserable. This 1-star review is specifically because Cornel and Etna’s accommodation put a dampener on our special family getaway, and ultimately cost us time and stress because we had to fight our case against a pathological liar.

Late booking for Nampo Cape so grateful that I had place to sleep. The place is really last minute option though with strange layout with bathroom and shower on a different level with strange steps. The floor is also uneven. If one books it is just for a roof and bed. It has a fridge, microway, cutlery, crockery, etc. So it has essentials but that is where it ends. The services of the booking agent, Etna's is very efficient though.

The Owlet in Arniston. Very comfortable, excellent fittings, appliances, security and braai area and beautifully clean and especially peaceful. So glad to have access to free WiFi as well. We would have preferred more exercise space for our doggies who could only walk on leads in the town and surrounds, but otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Thank you.

Good clean pleasant places to stay. Nice quiet area too.

We managed to spend a great breakaway weekend in a specially lovely place that Etnas has listed in Arniston.ALL aspects of online scanning listed options (last minute 3 days notice) booking, payments, welcome, as well as cleanliness and quality of accommodation are TOP class!Thanks Cornel, Michelle & Dianey for your respective professionalism, friendliness in all our interactions, as well as the very realistic rates your respective options charge.This level of customer-focused attention to details sure sets the bar HIGH for other holiday rental agencies and they should all learn from you.We will be back again.RegardsJoe & Sandy

Stayed at The Slipway" in Arniston. The place is overpriced for what you get. Furnished with what appeared to be leftover / unwanted items of the owner... Felt like I was staying in and using second hand facilities. Nothing gave me a sense of "wow this is nice". Bad smell from under the flooring - must be plumbing related. Glad to have stayed with good company else it would have been a dull experience."

Highly disappointing! No emergency lights during load shedding, no towels, 1 roll of toilet paper. Bedding not changed, even though we were told it would be.

Thank you Cornel and team. I was proud to visit Pebbles in Langezandt during February with my extended family. Check in was well organised and everything was beautiful and clean. The whole family (10 people), old and young, were comfortable and enjoyed our stay!

Blood stains on bedding, appliances not working, thorns all over the lawn, how Etnas thought we would accept this is unbelievable! Thank you Airbnb for full refund. Wish I could give zero stars!,
