Majiesfontein is a gem of a town to stop over. A well kept, clean 1 street town with this amazing museum. The R10 entry fee is so low, there is no reason to visit. They even accept credit cards. The entrance is a small door under the train station, to the right of the stairs leading up into the station. The amount of items in the museum are amazing, including furniture, clothing, medical instruments, tools, photos and much more.

Gem of a museum with a wild collection of antique things. Not too much structure in what and how the objects are displayed, but it feel 'alive' and personal and at R10 admission fee it's something not to be missed, if you're travelling the area.

old historical junki loved it a lot and seeing all the old tickets and tools that they used back then in every day life is very different from todays technology

What an awesome collection of the bygone era. The racks of bottles from the old chemist with od medical instruments all over the place is just the start to this adventure of discovery. I would highly recommend you to stop and take the leap in time it is so worth it,

It is almost as if you are traveling back in time. The museum is amazing, every section a treasure trove of things from yesteryear. The basement section really hit a chord with me as it is such a wonderful place to visit. A definite must see spot when you are here.

Great personal collection of historical items on display. Camera collection and medical collection on display separately. Located in the basement of the station building which served as a prison in earlier days.

We respect that this museum does not allow owners with their pets but then an area where a pet can be kept safely will go a long way for families traveling South Africa to also experience the exhibits.
