Harcourts Western Seaboard

Stay away from this lot. I dealt with Brenda Loader. I placed a cash offer on a property they were selling. Asking price was R 1,250,000. I offered R 1,200,000. The owner counter offered at R 1,518,000 ???Brenda's response was the owner also required 15% Vat to be paid, and also Harcourts 5% Commission had to be added to the asking price!!This is not the first time i have purchased property, and never have I seen a case where the price advertised, (property24) was not the asking price. Nowhere on the ad did it state any additional costs for the property. The kicker here is the property was apparently sold the next day. Fairly easy to work out what happened here.Totally Unethical and Fraud in my books. I am taking this further, but anyone looking at using this company needs to do so with caution!!

Miri sold me my first apartment and it was just SO easy from the get-go. Everything was explained to me in simple terms so I knew exactly what to expect. The service even continued well after bond registration to ensure that I was absolutely happy with my purchase.

Working with Harcourts Blouberg has been the worst nightmare. Me and my girlfriend moved in in October of 2019, the lady just handed us the keys and left. No entrance inspection was ever done and no pictures of the place was ever taken. Few weeks after moving in there was a few things broken in the apartment and we asked them to come and fix those things and they did. However, we have now moved out and Harcourts did not do an exit inspection with us. We asked them to invite us to do an exit inspection and they did it without us anyways. They then gave us a bill of things that needed to be fixed in the apartment that we didn't agree with. The lady now claims that the apartment was in immaculate condition before we moved in which is not true and she also claims that they never came to the apartment to fix anything which is also not true as we have proof that she did. We totally disagreed with everything they asked us to fix in the apartment and we asked them to provide evidence to show us that the apartment was really what they say it was before we moved in and they couldn't. The lady even said to my face that they didn't do an entrance inspection because we didn't ask for it ( How unprofessional for a rental agent to say something like that). The most shocking thing about this is that we didn't agree for them to use our deposit to paint the flat but they already did. Their principal knows that this is wrong but he is not stopping it or telling his agent that an entrance and exit inspection has to be done jointly. He is blindly supporting his agent, i really don't know how he became principal.My advise to you if you ever have to rent or work with them is to be very careful. Don't take occupation of a house or apartment without a proper joint entrance inspection because if you do they will make you pay for the landlords renovations and hold your deposit ransom

Don't put yourself through the pain of dealing with this company. Horrible from start to finish, I wont mention names but my consultant was sooooooo bad. Bills you over R60k in fees but don't do anything proactively. Day light robbery!

First time buyers don't use this company you will confused and disappointed.

From the first contact with Sue we had a fantastic experience finding our home. After dealing with agent after agent in the Cape Town area that were just too busy to help us, Sue was an absolute gem. She went out of her way to get to know us and exactly what we were looking for in a home. She didn't stop working until she found us the right home. She even worked on weekends (gasp)! Something unheard of in the world of estate agents in SA. That is just the level of Sue's dedication. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. If you are looking for a new home in the western seaboard area, Sue Mclean is your girl. I just can't recommend her enough!! Thank you again, Sue!

Bad service from Harcourts. Save yourself a lot of drama and avoid Harcourts at all cost.

They were full of promises when we signed the contract, made empty promises and guarantees regarding the process. Once the contract was signed, Sue denies making any promises and is in actual fact stating that we are lying about what she said. Unethical business practice from their side. Would not recommend them!

Worst experience in my life. I dealt with Alida Susdorf and I wish I'd never interacted with her. They are a vile company with dodgy business practices. I got less than half my deposit after chasing them for a month even after giving full 3 months notice of moving out. I left that place better than I got it but there's not even an indication of where my deposit went. Atrocious. I would rather live under a bridge than work with Harcourts again! Shameful.
