I recently had the team at Pool and Spa based at Henley on Klip repair a damaged pool pump in the beginning of this year. The pump which was installed had a crack and was thus not fully functional.I then called the Pool and Spa office and there I was greeted by a very defensive employee/owner who commented that in over 40 years they had never installed a faulty pump. This is very ironic as they repaired my pump with a second hand pump. The work on the pipes that were connected to the pool pump, was absolutely shoddy and real terrible quality.I called Hennie again and requested that he visit my premises to see for himself and he then stated that he had more important jobs that were paying him a lot more and he would not see to me at the time.The following day he arrived and stated that he would come the next day. I spent 90% of my day calling and following up requesting that he honor his appointment as I was travelling over the weekend. He then agreed and on this day, I tried contacting him and he ignored my calls until 17:30 stating that he is home and had a more lucrative job he was seeing to and therefore did not find the need to update me.I then informed him that I was going to write a review about my shocking experience. Hennie then explained and then told me that if I submit the review he is not threatening me but if I submit a review

Never come across the most useless non responsive service providers like these. They don't call u back, no follow through on promises. Best thing they do is to write your details in the book and nothing happens thereafter. Tried on 3 different times over 6 months but each time they failed me.

Absolutely shockingPlease don’t make the same mistake we did, I’m writing this review 115 days into my pool construction, the project was originally estimated to take 6 weeks. The service has been nothing less than shocking. Almost 4 months into this project, they still cannot provide me with an estimated date of completion.Owners claim to have 34 years of experience which is completely irrelevant as the staff are unskilled and unreliable. Workers are dropped off onsite at 9:00am and are left completely unsupervised until they are collected at 4:00pm (with the odd 5-minute visit from someone from the store). We have made and sent numerous calls and messages to Mark regarding the workers sitting around for hours doing nothing even sleeping due to lack of guidance and material. The staff often complain about non-payment, equipment shortages and material.The workmanship reached such a low standard that on the 8th of August 2018, after I completely lost my temper and threaten that I wanted a refund, the project manager (Mark) was removed from the project and all blame was placed on him, since then, which is almost a month later, they are still repairing their mistakes and imperfections, continuously blaming each other for the incompetence and attempting to shift cost onto me.I received a condescending email from one of the owners (Lee), arrogantly trying to shift blame and justify the delays and poor workmanship. Based on the lies that she was provided by Mark, she basically accused us of changing the project and causing an interference. We were nothing but understanding and patient, the only changes that were made were based on us compromising and accepting their incompetence. If anything, we decreased their work load, as time went by and we began to discover what their all about, I declined all other quotes that were provided (spillway, koi pond and solar heating)The problems began early:*The reinforcing walls were built incorrectly*The right wall was built incorrectly 200mm off plan, resulting in a visible difference and a narrow walk way. (this was promised to be fixed, never happened) – we just compromised and accepted itThe steps were built incorrectly, it was redone but different to the plan – we just compromised and accepted it.After they noticed that we are understanding people, I think that’s were they thought they could take advantage and it would go unnoticed. Several days would go by without any work being done, excuse after excuse.The list of faults and non-compliance goes on and on, from attempting to do the pool wiring without any conduit to attempting to use second hand material, the entire mosaic in the spa had to be redone. I have photos and video footage of everything. The situation has become so ridiculous that workers that are onsite from another company are now helping these “experts” to finish to the pool.I have spent so many days at work filled with rage and unable to concentrate due to the frustration these fraudsters have caused me.The owner Lee is arrogant and obnoxious and doesn’t deserve to be trusted with such an important investment.The bottom line is this company, although they have a retail pool shop (Pool & spa experts) and claim to have 34 years of experience, truth be told, they are far from experts, they do not have the staff or resources and certainly don’t deserve to be trusted. They get extremely defensive when questioned and really don’t care about what you think.I’ve attached a few photos, judge for yourself.

On August 16, 2021 Hennie van Brakel from Pool and Spa, started the renovation of our pool. The renovation was completed on 06 November 2021. The pool was paid in full on the 14 October 2021. At the outset, Lee van Brakel assured me that they will sort my pool out as they have been in this business for 34 years. Fortunately, we had a lot of rain which filled the pool and found that there was a leak on the 28th of November 2021, a month after completion and started lifting the pool paving. We asked Hennie to investigate the problem, after 2 requests he finally did a site visit on 07 December 2021 and said he would respond within 24 hours. A week later after no response, on the 13 December 2021, I tried to pay him a visit to get this information. Spoke to Lee who then passed on the message to him, and only then he called to inform me that the work he did was indeed correct and that he cannot be held responsible for the defect as the problem is due to the clay in the area and volume of rain. We have had our pool for approximately 30 years. During the renovation we had a lot of complaints and question of workmanship. We found that he was laying the coping directly on to the wall/foundation of the pool without sludge being used under the coping, only in between the coping on the sides. We advised him that the coping will come lose and pointed out some areas. He ignored us and stated that it was correct. The mosaic was applied on to a plastered wall which in turn caused the mosaic to be applied thicker and skew, and the light had to be taken out of the wall to meet the marblite and extra marblite had to be used to correct the problem. In my opinion, the mosaic should have been installed directly onto the gunnite. The steps installed are also very rough and skew and no rounding of the step edges had been done. I hold Pool and Spa totally responsible for this mess and for their incompetency. In conclusion, when the pool filled up, it lifted the coping and loosened the mosaics and cracked the sides. The coping could not take the pressure of the water and was not caused by clay movement as claimed. Pool and Spa should not be able to just walk away with no responsibility for bad workmanship. He was hardly on site with only 2 workers, which he dropped and fetch at the end of the day. Fortunately, I was at home and constantly pointed out the defects and had to be redone a few times as the workmanship was totally unacceptable. To date, keeping the water level in line with the last mosaic, we have had no further cracks or issues with the paving lifting and loosing water.In my opinion, I highly advise anyone to not use this incompetent company.

What amazing service! I have been struggling to get my pool right for over a year, I have spent so much on chemicals from various places telling me what I need with no results! Lee and Devon were amazing and in 3 days got my pool from pond green to blue! Their step by step instructions and check ups ensured this! Thank you so much!
