Since becoming a student at the South African School of Yoga my life has been transformed. At the school, yoga is taught more holistically. The focus of the practices and teachings is not one aspect of an individual e.g the physical through hatha yoga. Other aspects of are also developed for example, the mind through raja yoga and the spiritual aspect through kriya and nada yoga e.t c. In this way, the whole individual i.e total wellbeing is nurtured. Not one aspect of an individual is neglected. We have a wonderful master (Swami Kamala), with tonnes of wisdom and experience. I just LOVE being a student at the school, and I am honoured to be taught by Swami Kamala.

Yoga drew me in from the moment I set feet on my mat. After practising for some time, I became aware that yoga consists of more than only physical Asana, and I developed a desire to uncover the ‘more’. The Satyananda Yoga Tradition, The S.A. School of Yoga and Swami Kamala have been instrumental in this journey of discovery by providing an accessible, stable foundation and framework through which to deepen and expand my practice, knowledge and experience of yoga. Importantly, more and more every day, the School is helping empower me with a deepening understanding of myself. Yoga is vast, and there is much to learn – it is so important for anyone wanting to grow in yoga to have direction in the form the right teacher from an authentic yoga lineage, who is able to properly and with compassion, teach and pass on the tools and techniques capable of changing and improving our lives.Whether Hatha, Raja, Kriya or Nada Yoga (and much much more!), The S.A. School of Yoga provides an expansive 360-degree yoga experience, amongst a loving community of students, in a beautiful environment. My love, gratitude and appreciation forever.

My Yoga has been a journey of self-awareness and I cannot express the amazing journey, I am experiencing at The S.A. School of Yoga, with the guidance of Swami Kamala, of Satyananda Yoga Tradition. I am grateful for the confidence that Swami Kamala has gave me to be better in my practice and in many important aspects of my life, and teachings to the world! My objective has been achieved: I see clearly now what I have to do to progress with my own practice, life and teaching. Thank you Swami Kamala for giving me a traditional, holistic and deeper understanding of my yoga practice and the solid foundation, be it through Raja, Nada Yoga, Meditation, Hatha or Kriya. I am so grateful to be taught and guided by Swami Kamala. Thank You.
