Silver Mist Country Inn

I would really have appreciated being told the Country Inn rooms joined onto a pub and that there would be live music well into the night. It was the worst night's stay at a guest house I've ever had. The music was so very very loud in the room that at one point I considered going to sleep in my car. Someone was even walking in the passage playing a saxophone. If I'd been told about this I most definitely would have not booked there, I was looking for a peaceful night after driving a long distance that day.

We stayed at Kaapse Hoop this last weekend. What a beautiful place. A gem hidden in the mist on a hill in Mpumalanga. We stayed for the weekend because we were ministering at the chapel on the Sunday. We loved the old historic buildings. It felt like we were living in another era. We stayed at Silver Mist accommodation and we loved eating in the dining room at Silver Mist Country Inn. They provided a cosy fire because it was rainy and cold. The service is excellent and the food is traditional South African dishes which are delicious. I particularly loved the melkkos and hot cinnamon pancakes. We also loved the Illy coffee and cappuccinos. We were particularly impressed with Sibusiso, the waiter who was so helpful during our stay there. We absolutely loved seeing and staying at Kaapse Hoop. One of the highlights was seeing the wild horses that freely roam the countryside. There’s so many interesting things to take photos of. It is absolutely beautiful there with all the rain and mist and everything is so green. We would highly recommend going to Kaapse Hoop. Pastors Kevin & Laura Nicholson

As I walked in, it felt like a movie... one of those scenes where someone finally found a warm place after a long travel. The place is warm and cosy, comfortable and inviting. The deco felt antique and chic at the same time. I managed to do some work on my laptop while enjoying a warm meal. The receptionist was amazing; and the staff overall was friendly. Ohw I liked the dog...practically walked me out and as I drove away, came to watch me go.If anything at all, it's that on misty days I'll be thinking of that place.

Beautiful place,but can seriously put at least a candle in the rooms or an emergency globe ....had no lights during 4 hrs of loadshedding...thank goodness I had my own lamp in the car....

As a first time visitor to the location, I stopped in to have supper. I was met by a fantastic lady at reception who was very delightful and friendly. I then ordered the Lamb Curry....what a treat. High quality Lamb,slow cooked so that it melts off the bone. With fresh pumpkin, cream spinach and rice. The vlavour of the Lamb Curry was perfect not too spicy but very vlavour full. Everything cooked and seasoned to perfection. The waiter and staff is excellent. Thank you for the service and the excellent food. To top it all off the theme of the venue is perfect...not going to elaborate as words can't justify it you need to experience it your self. Highly recommended.

Did not stay there, just stopped for breakfast. The old world charm makes this a place worth visiting. I haven't seen a dining room like this for years. The waiter who served us was friendly and shared some of the history of what was once an old mining town called 'Kaapschehoop' apparently because gold was found there. The town is set high on the mountain amongst the forests and is also known for the wild horses which roam the town and surrounding fields.The Inn has 5 rooms, but can accommodate large groups in a number of the surrounding houses.The town also has a number of other attractions and places to eat and is well worth visiting.

Clean and fresh rooms. Booking stated King Size bed, but only double beds available. Restaurant is great and service is friendly.

Very central and well located in the area. Very friendly staff and super helpful. Enjoyed the stay and will be back again... Just a note: The advert shows breakfast free under the about section and it doesn't include breakfast.

I stayed here for 4 weeks and it was a great expierience. What made this expierience truly amazing is the poeple. From Sonja in management, Laurun and Jolene at front desk, house keeping and De Wet at the truly one of a kind bar, a bucket list expirience.
