I am currently in the process of litigation with ReMax agent: PETRA DAVDAN due to her misconduct. I have experienced very unprofessional behaviour from both the agent and the ReMax management team. Sellers, please be aware of freelance estate agents vs employed agents of ReMax. ReMax have no control over how their freelance agents operate under their banner. This agent did what she wanted and did not follow normal protocol or processes to achieve a sale in a deceitful manner. I have formally tried to resolve this seeking a resolution in writing. ReMax do not have a formal complaints handling process and a month later, I still have no formal response in writing or a resolution plan. I am extremely disappointed in how money hungry and cut throat all those involved have handled themselves throughout this dispute over the sale of my home. Base on my experience, I would use an alternative agency with stronger processes and protocols in place to protect you and hope that this review alerts other sellers and buyers (currently or in the future) to not have the same experience, as I have.

We entrusted Talitha Finkay with the sale of our home in Cape Town and she dispelled all our preconceived notions of real estate agents. She was supremely professional and patient with us, and was at all times attuned to all the attendant emotions that go with selling a family home. Talitha went above and beyond what we could expect of an agent and with her guidance we were able to get a market related price for our home. I know everyone can thoroughly recommend a good real estate agent, but Talitha may well be the best. Thank you Remax

Do not use the services of Remax, their agents do not operate ethically. We bought a house from Remax (less than 1 year ago), were advised by their sales associate Abigail Hinchcliffe.Today we learnt that the house we bought was in poor condition whereby the defaults were not disclosed on the offer to purchase. After repeatedly asking if there were leaks in the house, in the past the agent used words like the house is perfect

I would not recommend using Remax to sell your house. Due to their negligence and unprofessional conduct I landed up in litigation with the buyer. The OTP was emailed to me and the agent Dale Jackson did not go through the contract with me or point out any additions to the OTP. At no point did he ask about defects of the house despite knowing that I had not lived there for 15 years. He did not draw the buyers attention to any patent defects of this 120 year old Victorian in need of TLC. The agent was only interested in pushing a sale through and not pointing out anything that would jeopardize a sale.

The lovely JP Ricketts has just sold a property for me out of a deceased estate, and it was a dream doing business with him. He is knowledgeable, patient, prepared to go over and above what he is mandated to do and professional, all while still being friendly and approachable. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.
