Terrible Salmon bowl. Wasn't sure because it was too late in the evening for fresher ingredients or better service. A mediocre, tasteless & over cooked bowl of tiny cubed, off color salmon @ R40 add on & chipped/grated prawn @ R25 add on & green beans over boiled. At least the Manager listened. Rice ordered with 2nd meal of prawns seemed microwaved.

We went on a busy day but our waiter Gale was amazing with his service. I ordered garlic rolls and they brought 3 instead of 4, however, the manager brought us 2 more when we complained about it, his service was excellent. I was upset because I ordered the chocolate lava cake and it was actually just a normal cake.

Went to Ocean Basket Gateway on a Saturday, it was busy but the service was good. We had an excellent waitress, Habiba. She was an intern but the service was good and she made sure we were taken care of. The only reason for a 4 star is that the fish was a bit over-cooked and rubbery. The chef needs to check that his fish is not over cooked.

This restaurant recently went HALAL. It is very convenient if you working or living around Gateway. The finishes are interesting. It is wheelchair accessible. there is indoor and outdoor seating. We somehow managed to keep the cost under R200 per person which is incredible (I didn't count the kids and included drinks). The portions were large that we took home and had another round. The flavours were simple but good. There are rest rooms. There is also a prayer facility. Place was clean. there was very Good service from very kind waiters and greeters on the way in. I feel I will be going again.

Today I had a decent dining experience at Ocean Basket Gateway. The restaurant was bustling with activity on Mother's Day, resulting in a queue to enter. Despite the crowd, the lighting was adequate, and the seating arrangements comfortably accommodated my large family.The staff members were friendly and provided satisfactory customer service. Our waitress stood out with her exceptional patience, even though there was a slight mix-up with our order due to the high volume of orders. Notably, the food took a while to be prepared and be served, approximately an hour.The menu offered a wide variety of delicious options, and after careful consideration, my family opted for the Family Platter for 4. This platter contained a generous portion of fish, calamari, chips, and rice, and it was both flavorful and satisfying. To quench my thirst, I enjoyed the Apple and Mint Cooler, which was a refreshing choice.Overall, Ocean Basket Gateway is an excellent choice for gatherings with loved ones. The atmosphere is delightful, the food is scrumptious, and the service is commendable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a memorable dining experience, and I look forward to dining in a quieter time with more friends and family.

Ocean Basket Gateway Halaal
Tasty fish yummy fish. Overall I think the grilled fish tastes better than the fried fish. The salmon is exceptionally good. The various sauces they provide including the garlic sauce is also amazing. The prawns are juicy and filled with flavor. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff. Great service. Good atmosphere. Clean and neat. Food came out less than 10 min after ordering and was delicious. Gael, the waiter, was friendly and super efficient. Highly recommended!
