I do not have words to describe this amazing accommodation and the hosts. Weltevrede offers you something that is unique and exceptional. Well done! One day are to short to visit Weltevrede. Staying at this accommodation feels like you are ripped away from the daily life into a different world of tranquility; piece and nature (plants, animals, rocks, mountains, even the weather), all in ambiance with a working farm just to mention a few characteristics. Service are professional, but with typical genuine salt of the earth Karoo hosts who goes above and beyond. The units are well equipped and with quality utensils. CLEAN. Even the yard around each unit are swept like in old times. The combination of old and modern are tastefully done. Value for money: What you get are fare more worth than what you pay. The experience of visiting Weltevrede was like smoothing some of life's rough edges over. A well worth it 30 minute drive from Prince Albert. We got a platter for two for 150 and it was lovely. The best figs we’ve ever had. And their shop has some lovely items from local places including their own stuff.

We stayed in Prince Albert and went to Weltevrede Fig farm for lunch. It is about 25 km dirt road, but the view of the Karoo landscape makes it worth while. There is a lovely shop at the farm with delicious preserves, beauty products and other hand made goods. Try the platter for one, it is amazing. The shop attendant / waiter is also very friendly and helpful.

Spent two nights at Weltevrede Fig & Guest Farm and wish we stayed for at least a week! Amazing scenery matched with a classic boere" house feel. Warm inside fireplace to sit by and enjoy the peace and quiet of the valley. Wonderful hosts and a lovely little shop on the farm

Jan '23 we had the pleasure of indulging in the delightful Figtart at this charming fig farm. The majestic peaks provided a breathtaking backdrop to our visit and made the experience even more magical. In addition to the delicious food and gorgeous scenery, the shop at the farm was a true gem. The quaint little store was filled with all sorts of goodies, from fresh figs and honey to unique souvenirs and gifts. The delicious food, stunning scenery, and charming shop all made for a truly memorable day. I would highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a taste of heaven on earth!

The drive to Weltevrede is a 25km dirt road with stunning views of the mountain range. The fig tart at the end of the drive made it even more worth while. You can find a lot of their products in various shops in Prince Albert but there are cheaper direct from the Weltevrede shop. We were luckily to have had beautiful weather and sat outside under the trees. The coffee was strong and perfectly brewed. We had a cheese and salami sandwich served with their fig and caramelized onion jam and a fig tart (which was AMAZING).

Gorgeous fig farm, with a lovely coffee shop, serving a delicious fig tart. Beautiful store selling fig preserves, souvenirs and many handmade art articles. A must visit!

Beautiful mountain scenery on the gravel road leading to the farm. Access road is in very good condition and usable by saloon cars. The Fig Farm is a fun experience for children during fig picking season. They sell numerous fig products and great lunches are served outside under shady trees.

We visit Weltevrede every year for Easter and never grow tired of it. It's a wonderful time to go as it usually isn't too hot or cold and still in fig season. Visiting Weltevrede is a great way to disconnect and relax, as there is no cell signal or electricity. (If needed you can find WiFi at the shop though).The houses are very well appointed and have everything you'll need - including gas appliances and oil lamps etc.If you'll enjoy being in nature, living simply, going for walks, biking, eating figs (when in season), being surrounded by beautiful mountain views & seeing the moon & stars shine brighter than ever... Then Weltevrede is a must.
