A new and trendy social experience in the southern suburbs of Claremont, Cape Town.A typical chef-made fine dining affair is reconstructed into a casual, social, and reasonably priced experience.Making things even more convenient is the CHEFS app - where all orders are placed through digitally, notifying users when their orders are ready for collection from the various kitchen counters. A variety of food and beverage options on offer for all dietary requirements. The only offset is that although the meals appears affordable, the portions are quite small and thus it’s best to order a few items to share.

Many schools in the Western Cape do not have a cafeteria and I attended one such school. To have an experience of this nature at CHEFS was cool. The entire production process just works. The food was of really great quality, prices are affordable, staff are friendly and helpful and the best part is the ample seating.

Cool concept, but not a new idea. You order your food from an app, pay (card should be loaded for payment) and a notification will be sent to your phone once the food is ready, to collect from the various counters. It's based on self service. Cashless payments. Food is divided into categories on the app. Chicken, pizza, burgers, pasta, sushi and desserts on offer. Food was good. Enjoyed the waffles, had the strawberry Belgian waffle. Was delicious, light and not too sweet. Staff are friendly, helpful and they clear and clean the tables regularly. Has long cafeteria style tables with lots of seating available. Great for large groups. No reservations required. Can get very busy during Saturdays.

I love the concept!No lining up to place an order...use the app to place your orders and collect when it's ready.The prices are reasonable and a variety of options to choose from.I ordered a frozen magarita which was soooo good! Ordered a butter chicken pizza which was yummy! Definitely my new hangout.

We went to have lunch here with the family. There was ample seating and the service was good. I liked using the app although one of my orders that was paid for didn't appear on my list. The staff sorted out this problem. The atmosphere was rather clinical so not liked by our children. We prefer spaces with a warmer atmosphere. The food wasn't particularly tasty but we prefer spicier options but they provide a chilly sauce. The portion sizes may be small for some people. They are halaal friendly and don't serve pork and purchase meat from Halaal certified suppliers.

Overall very AVERAGE! We were attracted by how it looks from the outside. Food is ordered from an app (not very inclusive). Ordered a seafood pasta which was very blunt with no flavour whatsoever! Pizza was not great but not bad either. Definitely would not recommend or come back.Maybe the other meals are better.

After some disappointing reviews, I was apprehensive to try out Chefs. I can say that I was so pleasantly surprised. Their food is outstanding, and they offer incredible value for money. I will definitely be back. Super fresh ingredients, amazing cocktails, well done to all involved in setting up this special place!

There is a huge variety of food, something for everyone. Pasta, pizza, sushi, burgers, desserts etc. Food tasted good.Food was ready relatively quickly.Only downside, the chairs are a bit too high and uncomfortable to sit in.

Love the concept and experience of the place, food is very delightful, I would say the burgers are very small for the price though, the fries are nice but could be better, I would definitely have supper or any particular meal at chefs, the pizza is amazing, like well done!!! Flavors and everything is all on point, good place for family meals or solo meals, I would say that they can extend their menu and have more things, it's missing alot of food or edibles at this point, but for now it's perfect as is, highly recommended.

The next new restaurant I have tried is Chiefs in Cavendish Square. This restaurant is based around a semi self service model. You use an app to place orders with the different food counters. As an example you place an order for say a latte with the app and then you collect it when it is done at counter A. It is an interesting idea and the app works well. I ordered a latte at Counter A, a cheese burger at counter E and finally an apple pie waffle at counter B. The food was good and I enjoyed the burger the most. Staff working the counters were friendly. My food orders didn't take too long, the average wait was about 15 mins. The only thing I did not like was the overall white style of everything, I almost felt as if I was in a clean room or hospital. Overall a nice idea and decent food. Lastly there are take away options on the app should you want them.
