Delicious Monster Accommodation

The view from our private lodge was lovely, and the lodge itself is full furnished and clean, nestled in a rainforest with monkeys all around. The owner Julie is very helpful !

The owner is so friendly, we had a nice time and their cottage was clean. It is close to the beach and the view is beautiful

Where ever you go, you going to find some negative reviews, simply because it is impossible to please or cater for every person's desires. However, I can tell you, that there aren't many places on the planet like this, an absolute hidden gem in South Africa. I loved every minute of my 3 weeks that I spent at Delicious Monster. This subtropical climate makes you feel like you on some exotic island, tons of bird life, many which are unique to the area and plant life that's simply out of this world. To top it off the host was lovely and made my stay even more comfortable than ever.

Forewarning :1) the bedrooms are part of a communal building, so you will be sharing2) the restaurant might be out of certain items, but they are very accommodating!That being said :Don't let the location fool! Yes you need to drive through what appears to be a township of sorts, but regardless of the drive and the locals (who appear to be exceptionally friendly), this place has blown away my initial expectations.The view from your room gorgeous, and makes you feel like you are in the middle of a rainforest. The restaurant food is on another level (especially the seafood!)Loved the stay, loved the food!

The accommodation itself is great, the place is clean and comfortable. We did not expect the kitchen, lounge and front porch to be communal areas but that's because we didn't read the description fully before booking. The other people ate our food in the fridge. Lol! The nature is beautiful but the restaurant has been closed so you have to go into town to go to a restaurant. There is a lot of partying on the road to this place over the weekends.

The view! That is the reason why you should stay here, it is truly spectacular and I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere like it. The accommodation itself was alright - it is fairly tough to climb up the crazy steep driveway in a regular car, but the rooms were comfortable and the view made up for it for sure. Water can be a bit of an issue in the area which should be a consideration as showering isn't guaranteed. Still worth it though!

Living in paradiseIn the middle of nowhere but easy to be found. I had a small cottage for myself, fully equipped. Nice rustic atmosphere. A big veranda with shadow and seaview. This is like a dream !! I decided to stay an additional day! You get value for your money! Would I come again? YES !!

Delicious Monster Accommodation is located north of second beach, which was a little more beyond town than expected. The beach itself is quite popular with several drinking spots nearby making it unpleasant place to drive past for a family seeking calm and quiet. However, the accommodation itself is secluded, calm and with a beautiful view. The pictures are quite overstated though. I was also little taken a back by the gable" type family room with thatched ceilings and high stairs - no doubt exciting for my 3 y/o but also a tad unsafe. Overall

Beautiful place, there's no denying that, However when we stayed there (which was admittedly some time ago now) there were leaking taps, large amounts of dirt about the place and unfortunately a party was going all night long promoting us to leave before the sun was up and from what we saw we lasted longer than some other guests! We also had concerns about the safety of the vehicle as the parking lot is completely open; it would also be advisable to bring a high clearance car and get there before dark as it is a rather interesting drivewayThe party was admittedly on another property and I'm sure at quieter times it is more enjoyable but I can only rapport on what I experienced. But again, as far as views go it was incredible!

Host refused to help with directions. She actually put the phone down several times. We arrived in the dark and Julie simply refused tp come to our rescue. Very sarcastic. I will not recommend this guesthouse at all.
