Top quality country style lodging with very friendly staff! Beautiful environment, right on the Breede River.

This is a little gem. Would have given it a better rating , but they were not very accommodating with us as a group for dinner. We were a group of 12 and they just bluntly refused to give us a table for 12. We had to sit at different tables for dinner. It would have been no effort or trouble to put 2 tables together for us , but they refused, totally @#$& our overall experience there.

Very welcoming experience. Food (great) included, the reception was done with great attention. We were helped with great tourist tips. We had a problem with booking, but they did their best to help us and we even got a better room. Highly recommend!

Love the remote setting. Ideally have a 4wd to get there. Quite a long, buy well maintained sand road off the N2 or via Bredasdorp from the CT side. Lounging like a lizzard next to the pool, reading a book, and taking the occasional dip. Very quiet - stars bright with no street lights. Excellent friendly and professional service. Such a lovely place to enter the new year. Buffet meals delicious.

Super country hotel on the bank of the Breede River. Comfortable room, good tasty home style food, management and staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

If I was able to give no stars, then that would be my rating. Firstly the only friendly and helpful people at this establishment are the cleaning staff. The restaurants food was inadequate and tasteless, you were also not allowed to take takeaways for the food THAT YOU PAID FOR if the meals we served in the form of a buffet then that would be understandable, however it was not. Once we eventually convinced them that we would like to take our takeaways they proceeded to charge us for a takeaway box. We did not enjoy our stay at all, we checked out early, 4 days early to be exact because the stay was truly unacceptable and didn't come close to the experience we expected for the price we had to pay. I would not recommend.

It was very windy!! The swimming pool is just a little bigger than a plunge pool and murky. There is no easy access in and out of the river for a swim. Plastic and stompies have been overlooked for long periods of time. The groundsman kept circling, which was rather disconcerting. If you want to stay indoors, drink lots of alcohol and eat red meat, it might be tolerable.

A gem on the Breede River. So clean, well maintained, comfortable and a home from home. Wonderful staff and management. One certainly does not go hungry with the amazing food. Quiet and peaceful. We will certainly go back. Thank you for a wonderful weekend stay.

My stay was very relaxing. The staff was super friendly, and the food served was exceptional. The room was clean and private.

Our stay at the Malagas Hotel was an amazing experience for me. Families and children were enjoying themselves around the pool and play area, which was wonderful to see. The grass is beautifully maintained, and it was a delight to sit under the trees and watch the boats pass by on their way down the river.Breakfast was great both mornings that we were there.The kitchen staff and waitresses provided excellent service; they are kind and willing to assist!The drive there and back is along a dirt road, it was lovely to see the farm land whilst driving to the hotel.After reading the reviews, I believe that many people complain unnecessarily, as this gorgeous place has so many wonderful aspects!I am glad we chose to stay at your hotel, thank you for the memorable experience.(My only recommendation would be to bring your own water with, as the water may not be to everyone’s taste, but the bar does sell bottled water and have a water filtration system.)
