The Farmstead Franschhoek

Gorgeous country setting surrounded by mountains and next to a river. Close enough to Franschhoek, Helshoogste pass and Stellenbosch to serve as a great base to experience the Winelands, but the cottage was so lovely we also enjoyed just relaxing, watching the birds and cattle and going for walks on the farm. We appreciated all the thought and effort that was put into making stylish spaces with natural materials and that really help guests to relax. The layout and design helped create a sense of privacy between the different units. Special touches like hot water bottles, great organic coffee, and servicing of the rooms made us feel extra cared for. The outdoor shower was an amazing experience even on a cold day! Also loved the natural, local body wash, lotion and shampoo.At the moment not all units have indoor fireplaces so if that is a big factor for you suggest you get in touch with the team by email to request a specific unit.

we spent two nights at this beautiful place. The houses and the area are beautiful and everything is perfect. the lady who runs it was very welcoming and helping with our requests. in general there's nothing to complain.We had just on big problem. It came out that there were bed bugs in one of the rooms of the artichoke" house. We got bitten badly. We told the lady who runs it. Until now we don't have a response about this."

My family (husband plus 2 kids aged, 7 and 3) We had an absolutely wonderful time at The Farmstead. I could just say that everything was perfect- but that would not do justice- so here goes:- The cottage is beautiful, it is tastefully decorated right to the tiniest detail, I appreciated this! I loved the detailed deco like the small flowers vases everywhere. We also loved the body products - my son particularly loved it and even wanted to take it home.- The service from Mr Blessing and the rest of the ladies were really good. They were helpful and pleasant all the time.- the location of the farm is superb, I felt like I was looking at a painted picture every time I looks outside!- the river deck is fantastic. So it tubing down the river!!All that being said- we loved our time spent at The farmstead. This was a perfect time out before we back to the hustle of 2021!We have made a promise to return every time we come to cpt!!

Loved our stay at the Farmstead. We had two adjacent cottages (2 bedroom and 4 bedroom) which were lovely. River to swim in, outdoor BBQ under the stars and just overall very relaxing. Close enough to town for amazing restaurants, shopping and wine tasting. Eco friendly design which suits the setting very well.

The place is okay (lovely setting) but there were a few problems during our stay and the owners don’t interact with the guests in any way. The staff are kind and sweet, but they couldn’t resolve the issues. One of the toilets smelled very bad and wasn’t cleaned despite the daily service, we strongly suspected bed bugs, there was a gas leak in the kitchen, a wasp nest next to the outside shower, and what sounded like rats scuttling in the roof all night. I hardly slept as a result. We were also not convinced about the ‘eco-friendly’ status of the ‘farm’ - seemed more of a cost saving for the owners. I also notice that the owners become aggressive and defensive when people give negative reviews. Our stay was during Dec 21 (Artichoke).

A scenic drive with a beautiful destination. We had a wonderful yoga session there with Andria, the wonderful yogi.Direction toward the entrance was a bit of a challenge as there were no clear signs.I suggest they put visible directions pointing out where to go

Our stay there was excellent just what we needed, peace and quiet, lovely view, just adoring nature . They really knows what he/she is doing in terms of décor and setting! Well done!The sounds of the birds while soaking in the outdoor tub at sunset with a glass of wine in hand. A recipe for relaxation!When you need take a break from your busy life, The Farmstead Franschhoek is the place!

The perfect getaway in the Winelands.. the cottages are located on a ginormous piece of private land, on the borders of a river. Every little detail is perfect : the cleanliness of the cottage & property, the decoration, the friendly greeting from the owners,… you’re already calm & feel at home right from the start.The beds are like clouds. Slept like a brick and woke up by the sound of the chickens. They give you fresh eggs and baked bread at your arrival, awesome!The amenities are all very good : decent braai in the garden, well equipped kitchen, beautiful inside AND outside bathrooms! With fresh herbs hanging in the showers and bathtub to give a lovely scent.I loved it, never wanted to leave… can I stay?

Beautiful and well equipped cottage with the most stunning views on the mountains. Such a nice place to enjoy the peace and quiet. We got a warm welcome from Jules, she did everything to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Don't forget to watch the sunset on the deck along the river!

The love and magick on this space are entrenched in the landscape, and the small pockets of beauty lovingly woven into every nook..A romantic weekend away making bonfires and cooking lovely hearty meals is just what the doctor ordered.
