Drove from Pofadder and back bird viewing. If crossing at Onseepkans, check out the tall Palm trees for the localised Rosy-faced Lovebird.The road from Pofadder is very scenic, took great pleasure travelling and birding this route.

Easy pass through if all paper work are in order. Road from Pofadder to Onseepkans is corrugated. Road from Onseepkans to Karasburg is super...smooth and no corrugations! Well worth the drive, remember to reduce your tyre pressure.

Very quick and friendly crossing. There's a tap to fill water bottles and a few restrooms, including a nearby shop selling basic provisions. The road coming from Pofadder is just terrible, but the Namibian side (going toward Karasburg) is in much better condition.

The border crossing is at the end of a badly maintained dirt road with signs that still read Suidwes Afrika. I saw 1 motorcycle and lots of baboons cross during my 2 days staying nearby. I saw no staff and cannot fathom why this money sink exists. Perhaps for keen offroad bikers and 4x4 enthusiasts.

This town is at the border of Namibia and Northern Cape. It’s quiet and rich with history. It was great exploring this place knowing that there are law enforcements looking out for us.
