I consider myself fortunate to have been a patient at Faircape Health Tokai for seven months after a life-threatening illness. I can confidently state, based on my personal experience (and in direct personal comparison to other same level" facilities)

A place of healing, with a vibrant, highly trained, inter-grated and connected team of nursing sisters, Carers, physios, Occupational and speech therapists, dieticians, admin staff, doctors, chefs and caterers who really care. A beautiful space that encourages the heart and body to heal and recover from major physical set backs. We have had many family members stay at Faircape Health Tokai Estate for rehab. And it’s always been a place of healing for our family members. Thanks to all the team for everything they do.

It is always good to be able to be cared for at Tokai Step Down before going home. I am a 72 year old man and was diagnosed with IPF, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, in July last year. I have never smoked and lived a reasonably healthy and active life. I contracted Covid in December and lost a further 10% of my lung function, (down to 65%), and 30% of my baseline fitness. I have been struggling with breathlessness, energy levels, and felt the very breath of life was being stolen from me. My pulmonologist, Prof Greg Calligaro, referred me to Marchelle Lake, who is a specialist pulmonary physiotherapist. I was placed on a 12 week pulmonary rehabilitation programme at the Tokai Physiotherapy Faircape Health Facility. Marchelle’s holistic approach to health has tackled all areas of my life, (physical, emotional and mental training), which has given me skills so that I can still live an active life.

Their concern about my well-being and safe was truly appreciated. The physiotherapist Andrew was brilliant and really gave me the confidence to be mobile. The occupational therapist taught me how to complete tasks at home. The NURSES and non NURSING STAFF was brilliant in their care for me. I have been a regular patient at Faircape Health Tokai over the last 3/4 years. Spinal and neck surgery, post Covid and COPD.The transition from lengthy stays in hospital to home was made so much easier by being cared for at Faircape. The staff on every level are courteous, responsive to the slightest request.The OT therapy was very useful and made recovery that much easier. Thing's one would not think about doing...their pointers made such a difference.Marcelle and her team run an exceptional program. I have to mention Jenna, who has seen me at my worst but encouraged and helped strengthen me. The gym facilities are exceptional.The environment is beautiful too.A great place to take healing to a new level.I'm always grateful.Thank you

When I arrived at the facility on the 1st June 2023 I was in a lot of pain after my spinal surgery. By Wednesday I however was feeling a whole lot better because of the excellent care by all who saw to my needs.I however want to mention a few people by name. Sisters Emily, Dikeledi and Kirsten. The excellent work by the physios Celeste and Siya and the carers Khuthala and Sesepo. The word thank you does not express my appreciation enough.And a special high 5 for your pastry chef.Faircape is an excellent facility and the management can be very proud of their staff.I will most definitely be there in future if necessary.

Following a bad pelvic fracture and operations to repair the fracture in hospital I was transferred to the FairCape for post operative rehabilitation. I spent several weeks in rehab at the FairCape and found the support from the Caregivers and the professional staff, especially the Doctors and Physios, to be outstanding. The facilities and support at the FairCape greatly aided in my recovery.
