Very primitive. Great host. Clean. The host is very informative. Enjoyed my stay. Nice warm showers. Great place to relax and be one with nature.

We have stayed in much fancier places before and THIS was still our favourite getaway for 2022. Quiet, private, novel. That bath is something else (amazing)! I’m not sure how private it’ll be during the busier periods but for a quick weekend outside of the city, I can certainly recommend. We’ll be returning for a recharge again soon. Here are some things I found useful before coming:1. Kitchen is stocked with equipment but bring ice and your own cooler box (theirs is quite small) - there is no electricity at ox wagon camp.2. I recommend a portable charger for phones (no electricity at Ox wagon camps).3. A battery powered lamp to walk around with.4. Walking shoes to explore the farm.5. Bread dough from spar or pnp to make bread in the bread oven. You can buy wood from Gerard or bring your own. He’ll explain how it works.6. They give you towels but when it rains there’s not drying. Maybe bring an extra one or two from home.

What an amazing experience and to top it off our host Gerhard spared no effort in ensuring we had an amazing easter weekend tussen-I-bome experience. If you love nature and enjoy the true sounds of the birds, then tussen-I-bome is the place to be.

If you'd like to get away from the city, but would like something a little different, you should consider spending a few days at Tussen-I-Bome. Set in the bush, about 35 kms, north east of Pretoria. You can be as private as you'd like, or if you prefer company, there are always fellow visitors and of course your Hosts, Gerhard and Wilma.Experience sleeping in an Oxwagon, complete with additional tents for the kids or friends. The Bathroom is absolutely unique and an experience you won't forget in a hurry. Each Camp has it's own Braai Area, where the 'Donkie' is provided, in which you need to boil your own hot water before taking a bath. For those less adventures, there are Rooms available in the Guest House. And for those who would like to rough it a little more, there are Camping Sites, to which you can bring your own Tents or Caravans. There is a Dining Room / Restaurant which is open from Thursdays. Call Order Kitchen operates over the weekend, and they have A Functions & Entertainment Area for all manner of Functions.A truly unique experience and a 'must', specially for those Oversees Visitors that you'd like to offer 'something different'.Enjoy!

We camped at their Bush camp, what an incredible experience. Close to Pretoria, but totally secluded in the bush. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. If you need a real breakaway with no one around you this is the place. Their prices are also VERY reasonable.

Nice place and very nice owner. Remember plenty of ground sheets if your camping as it is very dusty.

Great break away close to JHB or PTA. Nestled nicely between the trees we had a great time away with some splendid views.

We spent three wonderful days at this guest farm. Firstly, we want to thank our wonderful hosts, Gerhard and Vilma together with Eugene and the staff. Such warm, friendly, and helpful folks. They went out of their ways to help us. There were about 50 young people and adults who camped . We liked the meeting venue (ox wagon type canopy ) they made available for us to use the whole weekend. The kitchen space, big fridges, oven, sinks, were just what we needed. We truly enjoyed the beauty of nature around us. The kids enjoyed the hike and the track and trailing one afternoon. Excellent place to be for youth camps. One suggestion is just to put more ablution blocks to accommodate the needs of large groups.
