Made an appointment to avoid home affairs. Get there on time for my appointment only to be told all booked appointments are referred to home affairs Barrack Street. No phone call prior. Complete waste of time.FNB staff were friendly, remember that the home affairs office is not affiliated with FNB, this was not their fault.Got to Home affairs to be told to get into the queue. Needless to say I left. Not impressed.

The most difficult part of this experience is making a booking. The hack is to input the date range yourself – as in manually type in the dates, which will then present a number of available slots outside the presented calendar. Once this loads, pick a time that suits you. Do not use the calendar as it mostly does not work. Try doing this on a Monday morning as early as possible as the two week cycle" advances at midnight. Also very important: if you are making a booking for yourself as well as your child

Just completed our 2 kids biometrics appointment at the Home Affairs office at FNB in Greenpoint. ALL the staff were amazing, both the FNB staff and the Home Affairs agent that assisted us.Our booking was for the time period 2pm - 3pm and we were out by 2:40pm.The only reason it took a little longer is because I did not have all my ducks in a row. The Home Affairs agent was very understanding and managed to help me get everything sorted.

Been here since 9 am .. bank staff are wonderful but home affairs system has been down.. home affairs staff only pitched up after 9 am. It’s now 10:12.. first person still in line she took her photos 4 times.. and still not working. Each time we ask for information, they get irritated, but it would help if they just communicated. My father has dialysis and we needed to go.. now need to make another appointment… failure

Went there for a new ID card and Passport renewal after having booked online (successfully, eventually) via the painful disaster known as the DHA website. Arrived almost 20min early, but they were happy for us to join the queue (one other person before us). There were 2 Home Affairs staff members on duty, all the equipment was working. Person who helped us was friendly and even fixed an issue on the system which was preventing my partner from applying for her ID card. We were done in what felt like less than 20min. All-in-all a surprisingly pleasant experience. We parked in the Media Quarter parking off De Smidt. It's short walk from there. Entrance is via FNB in Somerset Road.

We scheduled a password renewal for a specific time as instructed by the home affairs appointment. Waited a month for the appointment and after getting here, anyone can come and que. Long line of people and total confusion. System constantly going on and off. You might as well book and just go to home affairs as the service is just as bad, if not worse

FNB and their staff were great and friendly. However, Home Affairs side was useless, staff pitched up at 12:30 to work, yet there was bookings from 9:00. Okay fine but now its going to be quick right? Nope they say the system is down and we must re-book. The next available slot is a month away, this is complete and utter b.s. There was no attempt by home affairs to even try and give us a closer booking. But the FNB staff is appreciated, they really tried their best to help even though its not their problem and they can't do much about it.

FNB staff was great and very helpful. Phoned week before and FNB helpdesk and explained to them that I was unable to make a booking online and that I tried for several days. I was told there was a glitch on the home affairs website and I could just go and they would assist me. When I arrived there were only 4 people before me but they refused to assist me after I drove in from another town.I was told they could not assist without a booking because they are being audited? I had to make a booking after I got home at home affairs Stellenbosch.

Needed to get some statements stamped for my visa application. The lady who helped me and stamped them was friendly and efficient.
